So has anybody gotten their KR R4's yet?

I have to say I'm impressed COV's shipping. I ordered them Tuesday night and had a shipping notice first thing the next morning. When I was placing my order, the site showed 80ish people there at the time, so who knows how many orders they had to ship that day.

I think (hope) mine will be here tomorrow ~ can't wait to try them!

I ordered mine about 5:30 Pacific Time Tuesday night, arrived in yesterdays, Friday, mail so Awesome shipping. I had wanted to get the regular KRs, but COV did not have any listed so I ordered the XL version.

I am not sure what I received was the XL version as they are the same size as my CoolCarts and only held about .7mL.

I did not go through the whole cleaning process that I have heard about, but rather just filled it up with the syringe and tip and put a couple drops on the coil. First handful of pulls were full of clean flavor and TH, then I started to get a burnt taste. So I let it sit for about twenty minutes, a couple more drops on the coil and tried again on a different 3.7 device, GLV Mini. Same results first few were great, then a burnt taste. So I decided to let it sit overnight and soak.
Just tried it this morning, did not put any drops on the coil, only got about three pulls before the burnt taste started to show. So I am going to go through the cleaning process before I give my final opinion.

But my thoughts so far: The taste and TH are a definite improvement, obviously the burnt taste is a downer, but from what I have read a little pre-use maintenance can help eliminate that. The filling process is not that difficult, but it is definitely more involved than the poly-fill style cartos. I have also read about taking out the filling disc with the syringe holes, which I think would be fine at home but leaky if going out.

So at this point I think it is a step forward, but more testing and tweaking is needed.

Got mine yesterday :D they do have a 'burnt' taste, but i think it's just the primer fluid.
I took out ALL the caps gave 'em a boil in distilled water & flushed 'em with vodka, then dried in 150 degree toaster oven for about an hour.
After filling one and vaping for an hour or so, I went and tossed all my old 'Premium' cartos in the trash (none were new)

OMG These things are brilliant!!!!

Sounds great! Guess my thick Organic Juice blocks out any burnt taste.

I think these cartos are great am on my 12th one now I think. IMO I think that that taste comes from the wick in 2 ways. First if you don't wait long enough for the juice to soak in they taste burnt dry wick=bad. Secondly the one I had that tasted burnt in the most horrible way no matter how much juice was soaked into that wick I took apart. I found the wick had frayed because of the thin wire that it is attached with. I think, may be wrong here but when the wick is frayed which will prol only happen with a few the frayed ends will get to hot and burn making for a very unpleasant vapeing experience basically you are vaping the wick fibers. I think the way to fix this issue would be to use a thicker gauge wire to attach to wick. This would also explain why cleaning or replacing wick with teabag would fix problem. Cleaning may get rid of the loose wick fibers and removing the wick of course would also.

I am hearing from a few people about the burnt taste.
It is troubling to me since I am using a variety of these v4's from many packs and have not experienced it yet.
I will be speaking to the factory about it and will let everyone know what I find out.

Hey Bruce,
Certain batteries are just too much for these 2.5 ohm'ers. The juice cannot transfer to the coil fast enough as the coil is just too hot. I turns the juice black and you get the "burnt taste". The wick itself does not burn. I think if you ordered R4's in 3ohms instead of 2.5, most of the wicking issues will be solved. I also think that if you were selling the 3.0 ohms......you would sell out of them even faster than usual. There are alot of people on the forum that are waiting for the 3ohm to be sold by a stateside vendor,,,,myself included. I'll be waiting in line for sure.

Just a suggestion.

the wicks are fiberglass, so they can't burn... I still think it's the 'atty primer'

When I took mine apart the threads I am talking about were definitely burnt this is where I got the idea that this burnt material is what I was tasting. I don't think it will burn at full thickness but when frayed the threads do.

The juice in the carto I took apart was not blackened or burnt I had only been vaping it for 3 mins when taste started. When I took it apart the juice was the same color and smell it started with. Though I agree can't wait til Bruce gets the 3.0 ohms E2s in. I have also found that in time the sweeter juices get burnt so basically any juice I can't vape at 5Vs without burning them are not suited for these cartos. I have been reading that big thread also and those who noticed the burnt juice where vaping RY4 a very sweet juice in it.

All that I am saying is that if a little more care was taken to make sure the wick wasn't already frayed when we get them would maybe give us a carto that wouldn't taste bad within the first few minutes. If it was the wick or the juice burnt on those threads either way I consider that a defect and should be dealt with. My wick itself was not burnt when I looked at it so I can only blame the threads. I know that everyone has strong opinions on this subject and just wants them to work correctly I think they will be awesome when perfected but this may take awhile.

I have ordered another round of E4's!

I will have KR808D in Reg and Mega XL, all in both Black and Steel, in both 2.5oHm and 3.0 oHm

Bruce!!!! You are my hero!

BTW....I have found that my 2.5er's wick better if I hit it with the battery pointed up @ a 45 degree angle(gravity....haha). Yes it IS a weird way to vape but.....whatever works right?

I CANNOT wait for the 3.0's cause when these hit correctly there is no better carto.....IMO.
