This is a repost of a thread origionally posted by @GamblerMagic because a left wing/right wing bar fight broke out and the thread was moved to
https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forums/outside.49/
This was fair to the level of discussion but unfair to the subject. I propose it be treated again, but without flag waving.

Those interested in figuring out how not to behave can find the origional thread in https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forums/outside.49/ you can even pay attention to some of my posts for some of the most egregious examples.

Fair enough.
The WSJ had an article this weekend, pointing out that 90% of addiction starts under age 18.
We are not talking about ecigs or cigs.
Given that somewhat shocking (at least to me) statistic, I would say the vaping hysteria amounts to tilting at windmills. Time and effort would be much better spent on the real issues, which somehow fly under the radar. Those substances are already banned, so I guess government just goes after what can be banned anew and ignore the rest.

Your logic path is not making sense to me but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Got a link? It may help me understand what you mean.

Sorry, it's behind a paywall.

The subject of the article was illegal drug addiction among youth and how to deal with the issue. In that context, should the FDA signature issue be focused on that? Am I making any more sense?

You are.
I was the only person who smoked or vaped at a philosophy book club I went to, and upon explaining vaping after being asked someone “kindly” compared it to methadone treatments. I didn’t quite know how to respond to that one.

Everybody knows what vaping is. The people who don't smoke have been stealing money from kids and poor people for decades. Of course they aren't happy that it's ending, even the one's who haven't connected all the dots. When I switched to vaping some years back the people who knew me were complimentary. That is no longer true. When cigarette taxes go away because cigarettes go away it will be very disruptive for the people whose government funding will decline.
