First, my experience with the GV 50% off sale…

I ordered all unflavored on November 4th. I was concerned because the site said it would be delivered in 7 to 10 days and I wasn’t sure what to expect when things were running behind because I’d never ordered from Gourmet Vapor before. I emailed on the 10th day and then again on the 11th. Immediately after the second email I received a very polite response that contained an apology for the inconvenience, as well a heads up that my package would be shipped that day. My package came 2 days later, carefully packaged and everything was there. No small feat considering the Magnitude of this Great sale!

I don’t know how to attach it but I read Todd’s letter of explanation for the backlog in the other thread. To say the least, I’m impressed by his integrity. The letter is not only heartfelt but fills in all the blanks. There are some great vendors out there, but Todd is definitely a model for all to aspire to.

I have to disagree with Todd’s possible assessment of the situation though. I feel it will help, not hurt his business. For me anyway, it gave me a chance to hear long-term customers rave about the quality of his liquids and his character as well. Also, it allowed me to see how he dealt with the situation when the chips were down. In my book he’s proven his long-term customers right, and has made another one.

Todd, if you happen to read this; if I could make one suggestion it would be to send out a brief mass email to everyone if you’re getting behind. If that isn’t possible, update the number of days until expected delivery on your site and always overestimate that date. Doing one of those would probably be a lot quicker than clearing your swamped inbox. I know it would have saved you from getting two emails from me.

So all that’s left to ask is: Todd, when is your next Great sale?

It took them 10 days to ship my order (due to their sale, apparently. I missed that, but that's my fault, not theirs). I wouldn't mind the delay at all, if they had told me of it before I placed the order, rather than in the order-confirmation email. Given that, coupled with the fact that their prices are ~twice that of other suppliers, their juices would have to be darn'd good for me to consider ordering from them again.

I'll reserve judgement for now, but so far, I'm not all that impressed. I do love their site and all of the options, though, so I'm hoping I'll love their product.

Post Scriptum: And they provided no tracking information. Not terribly important, but always nice.

Very well said. I too have found Gourmet Vapor to be one the best juice suppliers around. The service and juice has always been first rate.

Thanks, Banjo. Will I receive newsletters from Gourmet Vapor since I've ordered now, or do I need to go to the site and register for them?

I agree, the handling was pretty good, considering that they were anticipating 500 orders, and got 3000. I also agree that a mass email might be a good idea, but I'm sure there are a few new measures in place for the future.

My order should be here tomorrow or Saturday, and I'm OK with the wait. There is something that people forget. There are three things that consumers want; quick, cheap, quality. There is a basic law of nature in the business world that will only allow us to have 2 of these. If you want it quick and cheap, it will not be quality; cheap and quality, not quick; quick and quality, not cheap.

In case anyone's interested...

I received my order today. Given that I'm running out of juice, I decided to sample each of the four flavors right out of the box.
Without going into too much detail here (I'll do a flavor review on the appropriate forum later), I'm very, very impressed!
Can't wait to taste these juices once they've had a chance to age.

I think GV is now one of my two go-to e-juice suppliers.
