Tonight we threw a retirement dinner for a government employee who happens to be blind. We went to a public no smoking restaurant and had dinner. My wife and I got there early and I started vaping. The blind woman retiring sat right across from me and never knew I was vaping until I told her. There were two others at the table vaping along with me. 11 people total. We each had our own different models. There were many customers and guests who saw us as well as employees and nobody never said ANYTHING. safety in numbers? It was quite enjoyable sitting around vaping in a public no smoking restaurant in a smoking banned state. We were all telling success stories and experiences with our different models. And talking about how much better it is than smoking. It was fun. It is also my birthday (as well as ecf) so it turned out to be a good day. I own a 510 and I've tried a blu, greensmoke and an Njoy. All were unbelieveably powerful. 510 is still my favorite. People vape in Nasa as well as the government inside no smoking buildings at work and out in public. I don't think these are going anywhere. They might be regulated and taxed, or banned in public, but these are here to stay. legally or illegally. These ain't goin' anywhere. You can count on it. :D:D

I've openly vaped in public libraries, 2 different high schools (even in the main offices), 2 different wal-marts (multiple occasions), other grocery stores, 3 banks, movie theaters, Lowes, mcdonalds, bars and even the post office. Before AND after the smoking ban. People don't care. Sometimes they ask if it's a cigarette and I just say, "No. It's an electric cigarette. I like it much better it's cheaper and it keeps me from smoking. There's no smoke or smell. I believe it is safer." And then they always seem interested instead of annoyed.

I work for a not for profit that is 80% federally funded. I share my office with our lone humane resources lady. I talked about vaping with those I work with leading up to making my first purchase. After receiving my gear I spoke with my director and she agreed, there would be no problem with my vaping at work! I now sit in my office all day long vaping. Heck, I vape in the lunch room and occasionally while walking down the hall.
As for my office mate; she is curious and supportive. She is an ex-smoker and would like for her husband who is still a smoker to give these a try. As for my other co-workers, they are supportive, frequently asking me how long it has been since my last cigarette.
As the temperature here is drooping to single digits I pitty those that walk by me, going outside for their fix.

I can tell from personal experience, so many more people are vaping than they were 3 months ago. When I went to school this semester, no one had even heard of an e-cig. When I got back, out of my friends, 2 already had one (without me telling them about it) and 2 are in the middle of getting theirs. A few others are deeply interested, but still sitting on the fence.

There's a lot of honest truth behind this technology, and it's pretty obvious that the damage from these (still existent) is much lesser compared to tobacco. People realize that and accept it, and since anti's can't smell the smoke, they usually don't complain when they see a blue led flash at the end of your "pen".

E-cigs are taking fire, but they won't go anywhere, I'm sure of that. There's no basis to ban them, and the public will argue that. Haha, everyone remembers me by the "dude that smokes electrons", a stupid gag that I say when I meet someone to get them interested in it before I give them a short speech, it works I guess lol, I haven't met someone that didn't love it or the idea.

I was in the mall the other day - I could not help myself I had to stop at the Smoke Everywhere kiosk in the mall. Got to talking to the kid working it and was showing him my stick. I had just produce a huge cloud of vapor for him to see and then a pregnant woman walked right into my vapor cloud from behind me. Trust me I did NOT try to blow it in anyones direction I did not see her coming. She turned around like she was about to let me have it - when her husband grab her arm and pointed to the Flat screen TV above my head. I apologized anyway, put my PV in my pocket and moved on. Smoke or not I never like to blow anything in anybodies face. Other then that I have vaped in a lot of places and never had any issues.

Hello from Nashville, South of Indianapolis.
Thanks for sharing your story of vaping at your office. I have hesitated vaping in venues where "smoking" isn't allowed. I see that this public exposure is a necessary "coming out" if PV's are to become more widely used and accepted.
I have an olde tyme photo studio in Antique Alley in Nashville so come on down and have a vape on the porch...when it warms up and we are open (Valentine's Day weekend).

SuZamme, would that be the studio that you dress as a cowboy and your wife can dress as your wench (but with a derringer in her garter so as to let you know if you refer to her as wench she will shoot you)?
If so I have been there...twice. One of the photos is on the fridge at this moment. It has been a couple of years now since I have been to that (maybe your) shop. I have been to Nashville as recently as fall though.

I too have vaped pretty much everywhere. Nobody yet has bothered me, although some have expressed curiosity. Except once, before I got silver w/ blue LED's. The white/orange LED must have looked like a real cig and a women reminded me that there was no smoking. So, I had some fun, said, "OK", turned on the amber light & 'put it out' in my hand (making like I was extinguishing a cig in my palm) while groaning. She gasped. I said, "only kidding". She walked away, and nothing else needed to be said. Now, in places where you can sense trouble, I stealth vape by dropping my head & vapoing in my shirt.

I've vaped in the National Press Building in Washington, DC, about a block from the White House. No one even gave me a second glance. I'm not sure if it's because they could see it wasn't a "real" cigarette (black 510 with blue LED) or if it's because it's Washington, DC, and everyone is too self-absorbed to notice what anyone else is doing...
