This is my second week vaping, and I've done it in several public places. So far, knock on wood, I have not had ANY negative experiences. I knew Waffle House and the bar wouldn't be a problem, but I had doubts about restaurants. Well, we went out for my birthday dinner last week and an upscale place here in town that's pretty new and still a "hot spot". As soon as the waitress asked us if we had any questions, I said "I have one. You see, I've quit smoking thanks to this little device here. Would you guys be opposed to a small amount of cinnamon flavored vapor while I wait for my food?" She gave me the go ahead before even bothering to ask the manager, but I saw them talking and pointing over at me, and all I got was a little smile. Nothing but smiles from all the other customers as well. Before I left, the waitress was writing down where she could get one for herself after hearing how easily I had quit after buying it.

So far so good! I hope it continues to be positive feedback. Our public smoking ban just went into effect on January 2nd, which is why I made the switch. I wasn't even expecting to quit cigs, just something to tide me over while I was out in public. These things are a miracle.

Yeah something that peaked my interest in e-cigs wre some douches (See: http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt302/killebrewje/Anatomy_of_a_DoucheBag.jpg ) that were leaving a movie at movie theater I worked at vaping on e-cigs. Of course they were complete a-holes about it when we called over asking them about it (out of interest as most of us smoked). They just figured we were going to tell them to cut it out so they arrogantly strode off. Funny thing is our managers are totally cool with e-cigs. Definitely showed me how not to handle it with other people.

HAHAHA!!! LOL!!! That is a perfect picture to depict a douche-bag. Why is it that most at a movie theater look like that?

Responding based on assumption is definitely not the way to go! Nothing wrong withing being prepared to respond to said assumption just in case you were right though. I know people are going to handle situations poorly, but I really try to be super respectful about the vaping. The way I see it, we've been given a gift. You don't want to blow something like that with attitude like those guys you're talking about.
