Up until recently I have been vaping as a replacement to smoking. Now I have gotten a couple of dual coil tanks and a higher power mod and this has become a hobby in itself with the quest for great flavorful vapes. Before now I had been vaping at around 1.4 ohms, 3 volts +/- and 8 or 9 watts. Now I have the capability to go up to 75 watts at around .2 ohms. Now I know that I do not have to go up to 75 watts, but I have no idea what wattage/voltage I should set my mod at at the lower ohms like .2 - .4 ohms.

How do I figure out where to set my mod so I don't burn up my juice, wicks and coils, but still get good flavor?

BTW, I have an Hcigar VT75, a Moradin ceramic and a Geekvape Griffen 25

If you are using watts just start on the extremely low side whenever you have a new tank or coil on top. We do not want you to cough on your first hit or get a dry hit and burn the coil before you even really get started.

Start around 10 watts and take a little puff.
Then a bigger puff.
Get nothing? Then turn it up 5 watts or so.
Take another small puff, if it's real weak, or you still get nothing turn it up some more. Small puff first, then bigger puff.

Honestly it'll be probably 20 or 30 watts(depending on the coil)
before you start getting a good vape, or anything at all for that matter.

Keep inching the power up in this manner until you get performance that is good for you. If the vape starts to get too hot OR the flavour begins to taste burnt then back off the power a little because you've hit the upper power limit for that particular set-up/ juice combination. Cheers.

A couple of points that may be useful.

A regulated mod doesn't case what the coil resistance is, it will just deliver the power you requested to it.
Sub-ohm coils will usually be made of thicker wire which will be better suited to higher power levels, but will also require higher power levels to light up.
Just because your mod can do 75 watts, doesn't mean you have to use 75 watts.
Getting the vape you want is a personal journey, there is no magic formula.

I went through a few mods and more than a few tanks to get to my personal sweet spot. You may as well. The tank you got, I really have no experience with, but these days most of the gear is pretty darn good. How it wicks and the ease of the build deck seem to be the variables anymore. You got the best advice of start low on watts and move up till you like it. My final (for now, lol) setup ended up being IPV D2 or D3 and an Aromamizer V1 and V2 tank.

As a alternative to lower ohms hi power I offer an alternative. I never build below .5 ohms, I never use more then 60% of the mods rated power and I buy integrated battery mods to save all of that extra money on batteries and chargers.

I just recently upgraded to a IPOWER 80, Boreas tank and Avocado 24 and I'm using essentially the same setup I was using with the Coolfire 4 40 and the Kayfun Lite V2 and Mutation X v4... 26 gauge KA1 wire 6/7 wrap on 3mm spaced for .48 ohms in the Boraes or 1.2 on the Avocado and I vape both at 40-45 watts.

You dont have to go high power, you dont have to use Noble Element wire to get a good vape you just have to have a tank you can play with. The Griffin 25 is one of those tanks.

Start building 7/8 wraps on 3mm or 3.5 for 1.1 ohms, which will be .5 when dueled, then either increase one wrap or decrease one wrap and see how it treats you.

Its all about experimenting, once you find what you like you'll be able to do it in your sleep and its not hard.

Jump in, the water is fine.
