Hello, everyone! I've been reading, learning, laughing for a month or so now as I browse and read though threads on ECF . Time to join up.

Found ECF while browsing for reviews on cigalikes. I started with the usual route but the Blu, njoy, etc. just didn't keep me from wanting a "real" cigarette - did help me cut down some. When I first found ECF, I'd never heard of "vaping" and must admit, my initial thought was "Oh, no, I don't want to do that!" Nevertheless, a few days later I noticed that a convenience shop had some eGo t's and eliquid. I bought one, went home and tried it - thought "Wow! I get it now!" At that moment I knew I could quit smoking.

I was a 47 year smoker, at least a pack a day average. I loved my habit! But you know, in the last 10 years or so, my husband has had/survived smoking-caused lung cancer, so has his brother; my sis-in-law and longtime friend died from smoking-related COPD, and I've known numerous others who've either died from a smoking-related disease, or developed a smoking-related disease. I hope to avoid that (although after all these years, it may be too late, I realize.)

Anyway, I smoked my last cig on Sept. 17, 2013 and it has been easy! I am soooo grateful!! Honestly, it's almost a miracle!! Never thought it would happen!! Probably wouldn't have if I hadn't discovered ECF, so thanks to all of you who created and have used this forum and all its information and inspiring stories.

I'm still using eGo batteries of various sizes, although I also have an iTaste vv. They work for me so don't know if I'll get into more sophisticated stuff or not. I DO like shiny stuff and electronic gadgets though, so.... :2cool:

Enough for now - I'll be back later though!

congrats! It's amazing how easy it is switching to vaping. I was absolutely bewildered just a scant 2 weeks in that I was no longer smoking. How painless it was, save for a few hiccups and determination. Four weeks vaping now and 3 weeks free of cigarettes, I'm ecstatic! Keep going, have fun experimenting and tasting all the wonderful flavors!

Thanks, nova! Yeah, the very occasional desire that goes away quickly is all I've experienced. Tried the patch once and it was much more difficult (& then I was allergic to the adhesive so had to quit the patch anyway.) You are just about as far in as I am (3 wks. cig-free) - congratulations to you too!!!! It's wonderful, isn't it!!? Yes, so much fun trying new flavors!!

So happy for you. I too picked up an e-cig and within that day had smoked my last ciggie. Those Pall Malls are still sitting there. I laugh at them now, sitting there all alone and unused.
Ha, ha, poor ole ciggies! I have to admit to smoking the last 1/2 pack I had when I got the first eGo - you know, had to say goodbye. But not one of them tasted good, so now I just remember that - smoking a "real" cig is really just a waste of time and effort!!

Good for you. I have been smoking a pack a day of ports for over ten years now and my girl was on me to give them up. She found a great unit for me called the blaze twin (I think she got it at vaporizerusa.net) and I went from a pack a day to maybe two a day depending on the day of course. The battery life on this is amazing I charge it once every week or so and I use it in my office through out the day every day. I also like the fact that I can adjust the voltage on the battery to make it hit as hard as I am used to with ports. I keep mine on the highest setting which is 4.8. I found a great shop just south of Atlanta to get my juices from vapesgonewild.com my two favorite are Georgia honeysuckle and sour skittles.
Good for you, nowayjose!! I am fortunate that just at the time I started my "quit" a B&M opened in my little town - and now all the convenience stores are carrying eGos and liquid as well. Fun times!

Congrats on quitting! Vaping is a great way to reduce harm in your life and feel much about yourself. Soon your coughing will go away, the gross smoke smells and your overall health will improve. I'm so glad that I found something that I loved as much as those gross stinkies. Welcome to ECF!
Thank you, RubyRoo - me too!! My cough has already gone, I'm already breathing better and feeling better. It's great. Congrats to you as well!!

It's a combination of my name, Jason (Jay for short) and one of my favorite bands from a few years ago Sky Eats Airplane! Glad you like it:)
Thanks for replying, Jay! Only band name I can think of with "airplane" in their title is "Jefferson Airplane." I'm probably a LOT older than you, lol!!

Congrats freeatlast!... (clever name by the way)

While I don't have the smoking history you do, I have very similar reasons for changing to vaping.

Thank God for a friend of a friend who was trying to become a salesman for some random e-cig company. I may have not ever tried it had been for that horrible 1st e-cig.

LOL! Thanks, 1369. I'm sorry to hear that you have "similar reasons" for changing to vaping - but so glad you're not smoking anymore! It's a wicked thing. Someone on here called cigs "backstabbers" and that really stuck with me - so true!!

I'm so glad you found ECF! Hello, Welcome, and Congrats! I smoked for 33yrs and developed some lungs problems that have greatly diminished since quitting the cigarettes. I love vaping so here's to you! Happy Vaping!!!
Hi, DetraMental and thanks! Your user name is familiar, I've read some of your posts. I'm so sorry you developed lung problems but so pleased that the issues have significantly diminished since quitting. Vaping is so much more enjoyable than smoking ever was, so glad we found a way to quit smoking!!
