It's all starting to get really annoying.

I agree, completely annoying. I rented a movie the other night and was surprised to see that it was R rated because of, all things, smoking! What the??? I guess we'd better start censoring images of Ulysses S. Grant, FDR, Albert Einstein, and Winston Churchill as well. After all, we dont want the kids to grow up to be like them *rolls eyes*

And I guess old episodes of I Love Lucy (a wholesome show if there ever was one) and The Patty Duke Show might now end up being R rated as well *sigh*

Next year smoking in a movie will be X rated, then it will be add to the porn list. In the mean time the children can watch X rated cartoons after 8 pm on Nickoloden. The "children" will just download (free) the movie and watch anyway.

They are arresting children for showing each other their own nude pictures. How can we protect little angels like that. They will now need to pass laws to protect children from children.

Where are these children's parents, do they have a responsbility to take care of their children or not.

protecting kids from filth (not insinuating that smoking is filth) is like protecting them from germs. if you do it too much you wont develope an immune system worth rooster, then when your 20 you catch the flu and x(. nomore need for immunity.

if we protect our kids from too much theyll snap when they find out that the world isnt really made of talking nascars and helpfull happy strangers.

LOL! Truth. Anyone remember how disturbing kid's nursery rhymes used to be? At least they were brutally honest.

Yup, it’s what I always said, it is atheistic. They don’t want to see people smoking or using a device that looks like your smoking. Frankly I am getting sick of others peoples kids taking my right to use e-cigs and tired of the worn out “think about the children” excuse. This “R” rating for smoking backs what I’ve always thought, if you don’t act/look and do what they want you to, they socially cast you out.

I agree whole-heartedly with you post but I am unsure how atheism fits into this!

For those of you who are worried they have left out adult cartoon shows like the Simpsons, fear not. Just this week, anti-tobacco sent an outraged news release that the Simpson's mention of smoking and smoking characters (even though smoking is presented in a very negative way on the show) was, in itself, an outrage. The anti smokers have DEMANDED that the Simpsons stop showing or mentioning smoking on the show. I'm wondering how they will airbrush the cig out of Lucy's hands as well as Andy as he sits relaxing on his Mayberry porch with a smoke. My kids loved those reruns of the classics. The bigger issue here though is not of smoking but of CENSORSHIP and the First Ammendment.
