I remember seeing GrimmGreen using one in a recent juice review video from PinkSpot but can't recall the name of it. All I remember is it had the LED light mid-tube and the light was all around the tube rather than a small little one. Might review some of his recent juice review vids and see if you can find it.

Yer I saw this review as well and went to the site and they don't seem to sell that one either, I don't know whats going on.

Ropetrick cheers for the link, I did see this one but was kind of looking for a nicer looking one do you know what happened to the ones that puresmoke were making?

the problem with most usb passthroughs out there is that while they do provide 5v on a multimeter w/ no load, as soon as you stick an atty/carto on there, your voltage drops quite a bit (standard USB ports simply can't provide enough current). madvapes has some now ( Blue Lightning Acrylic 5 volt 510 Passthrough ) that supposedly have some sort of circuit in there that makes them truly provide 5v vaping, but i've not tested them under load, nor seen such a test anywhere.

i built one myself, using a 5v 3A power supply for a router running into a simple 2xAA box w/ a switch and atty connector. 5.5-ish volts unloaded, 5.1v under load w/ a 2.5 ohm 510 atty.

I really, really love my direct 510 PT from madvapes.

MadVapes 5 Volt 510 Manual USB Passthrough

That one looks really solid. I wish I had seen that one before I ordered my eGo PT but at least it gives me a spare battery to take away from the PC. I have a few Joye PT's but the cord is so weak on them and have already lost one to wire breakage. I need someone who is good with wiring to fix one so I can have my truck mounted one back!

I was going to build one for myself, I have a question on that actually, do you have to have a regulator in the circuit? And also the red wire gies to the attie cap but where does the black go? Do you wire it to the cap also or to whatever I fit the cap to.

the red wire from the power supply goes to the switch, wire from other leg of switch to center-post of atty connector, black wire from power supply to the outside of the atty connector. also, i don't have any regulator in mine, that's the power i get from the power supply i bought (very much like this one: NEW D-Link Power Supply AC ADAPTER 5V 3A JTA0302C | eBay )

probably not enough amps (unsure about the output of your charger, it probably says somewhere on it). also, if you're using a metal tube and a pressed-in connector (solid electrical connection between the two) then you should be fine soldering to the tube.

Ok so how many amps do I want coming off the cap I mean after the circuit is complete?
And that's my last question, cheers for your help.
