Two years ago I would lurk around here on the forums and read enough to get me going on Ecigs. I started off with the drip methods, or filling the cartridges, etc. WOW, have things changed! So..I'm back again to see what all I've missed. I was not that successful at staying away from the analogs, but I've bought a couple of newer items, and I'm so happy; smoke free since my wedding anniversary, October 10th! Well, mostly happy. I'm re-learning a lot of things. I'm loving all the new stuff, true...but I am also a little befuddled at it all. There's so MUCH! I'm currently using a couple of ego batts and some little clearomizers to get the job done. Some leakage issues etc. But all in all, I'm enjoying myself. Mostly I'm enjoying the flavors! Happy to be here.

Welcome back CentralTexas! Good to hear you are enjoying vaping (mostly) now! I know what you mean about there being so much out there. My attitude is to find a couple of things I like and stick with them. I will experiment with new stuff, especially if I am really not happy with the kit I have. But carefully and one change at a time to really let me evaluate the new product. What I have found is really tricky is that there are so many manufacturers making knock-offs or one version newer and supposedly 'better' items (YMMV) and those items can be really bad.

Yes, between PG and VG, if people have issues with one it tends to be PG. I do better with at least 50/50 PG/VG. PG tends to irritate my throat. Luckily, it's no problem to find lower PG juices or to mix or modify your own juices.

I'm also PG sensitive.. Gives me a HORRIBLE headache and makes me cough EVERY TIME I take a drag. So I use 100% VG.

Yes geckokitty, exactly the same problems. And I just ordered some juice that I can't enjoy. I don't remember having this problem before when I tried juices..or maybe I did have the problems and didn't realize that was what was causing them. The biggest reason I quit for good this time was my horrific cough, which is down from 20 hardcore times a day to ONE. just..One harsh cough, to get the years of crap out of my poor ol lungs. So I sure don't want any more of that!

I wonder if there's a way to cut down the pg by adding some vg? Because I have just ordered some really strong half and half that I think is too strong anyway, flavor-wise. Is there VG with Nic in it? I'm thinking there is, but never bothered to consider a DIY.

CentralTexas, I mix anytime I feel the need to do it. You can buy pretty much any combination of PG, VG, with any amount of nic that you want. One supplier is RTS Vapes here. Also check out this mixing calculator. Once you learn how to use it it I've found it very handy to get what I want.

Thanks, I'll check out both.

I'm in much the same situation with regard to timing, and finding that everything has changed.

2-1/2 years ago I researched e-cigarettes not because I wanted to quit, but as a way of getting nicotine during an upcoming international flight. I ended up buying an ego starter kit, then after the trip put it into a drawer and didn't think of it again except for a couple aborted attempts at quitting analogues.

Now, like you, I'm back. And with the better equipment and juices these days, I'm smoke-free for almost three weeks and enjoying it :) My biggest problem so far is learning about all the awesome mods/apvs without buying them ;) So far, my old ego batteries and some new mini novas are keeping me happy, but it probably won't be too long before my credit card takes a beating.

As for PG/VG, I thought I didn't like PG and tried the higher-VG route. But I discovered that 60PG/40VG makes me nauseous, and my happy place is around 80-90% PG. I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to DIY, so more power to you!

Welcome back!
Yes, there is VG nic base, you can add some of that, or just plain VG or a combination. A few months ago, I accidentally clicked the 'buy' button on the wrong PG/VG ratio, and only discovered it the next morning, then the vendor wouldn't change it. I ended up with 6X 50ml bottles of 80% PG, instead of 80% VG. I almost cried. Anyway, I added plain VG and some 100% VG nic to all the juices, and everything turned out great! I would suggest adding less than you think you need, and in a separate bottle.
