Hi All,
I've been lurking a little and just wanted to say hello. :toast: I just dove into vaping and have been cig free for 2 weeks and cannot see ever turning back! I'm loving all the pics of the cool set-ups and can't wait until I understand all this stuff well enough to configure a few blinged out versions of my own. Right now I'm using an Ego-C Twist and totally loving it! I played around, and spilled a lot of juice, trying to figure out tanks and...stuff...still not sure of all the terms. I have a Vivi Mini Nova that I'm really liking and have some clearomizers, not sure what kind but they are doing the trick as well, especially while I am still switching around juice's to see what I enjoy most.
I'm really confused about cartomizers? What's up with those and what makes them better/worse/different than the Vivi Nova thingamajig that I've been using.
Thanks for all the great info!

Hi and welcome!

I think you have to have 5 posts to read the blogs, so say Hi to a few people and when you get to 5, check out Baditude's blog. It's a nice overview of the basic "Delivery Systems" (those are the the devices, like the vivi nova, that go on top, which hold the juice and delivers it to the heating element to be vaporized).

ETA: Putting in a link would have been a really good idea. doink.

Baditude's Blog: Is it a carto? atty? clearo?

Very cool, Ocelot! I have way more than 5 questions so that won't be an issue. Do I have to post new threads or does my reply here count as one of the 5?

Yes - posting to your own thread or existing threads is recommended, rather than starting a whole bunch of threads yourself.

Yeah, that would be annoying. Looking forward to learning more and leaving those nasty smokes behind for good! Been smoking since I was 13 and I'm 49 now. Quit for a couple of years, a couple of times, but always went back. Seeing all the cool set-ups just makes me want to spend a whole lot of money on cool vaping supplies! I'm excited!

Welcome to the forum, Lynne (My name too, but without the "e")

I hope that the picture dictionary that Ocelot was so kind to link for you helps answer some questions. I've written another blog article that I feel is important to new vapors, especially those that are using clearomizers that are made of polycarbonate plastic.

There are a small group of flavors (ie. cinnamon, citrus flavors, etc) that can crack or melt the plastic when in contact with the juice. This does not mean that these flavors are harmful to the body, but it is merely a chemical reaction between the flavor components and the plastic. The following article has a list of those flavors known to cause the reaction, and what devices are considered safe or immune to their effects:

You should be proud! After 2 weeks it all gets much easier (to not smoke I mean), The not spending money on your new hobby is just beginning. I recently got an Evic with a Vision Neptune Vivi Nova and this thing is amazing! I think you're on the right track already having VV, VW is the next thing to try...and of course DIY juice and RBA's, LOL! Good luck and VAPE ON!

@fourthousand-Huh? LOL! You guys are awesome! I can now see the link to the blog that Ocelot posted and I will read Baditude Lynn's article as well. So far I'm mostly enjoying the tobacco flavors, and a chocolate cake one as well. Not sure how much of a flavor person I'm gonna be but it sure seems that most people move in that direction after some time. Thanks for the kudos, friends, I really feel like this is going to be a fun journey into the vaping world!
