After smoking Marlboro Lights for over 30 years (pack and a half per day - yikes!) I decided to go the e-cigarette route. I jumped in full force with Green Smokes and I WISH I would've found this forum first! Regardless, I've decided to switch to Vapor4Life and am awaiting my new kit (should be here today) and I've got a couple of questions:

1) Has anyone ever made this particular jump from GS to V4L and what are the differences?

2) Adaptors: I've got a buttload of chargers from GS. (Like I said, in for a penny, in for a pound! I thought spending that kind of money would make me too guilty to go back to analogs and I was right! LOL!) Are there any adaptors I can get so I can use my GS chargers with my V4L batteries? They said I should look for an E-9 to 808 adapter to use the batteries. Any ideas where I can find these? I have the adaptor to use the V4L cartomizers on my GS but I'm not sure if it would work for the batteries

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi Colleen, I'm not good at this type of question, but 808s are definately better. I would get your money back on the green smokes if possible. The GS chargers would be too weak i susect for V4L 808 batteries; same wrt to the GS batteries.

Hope you get your 808 today ok :)

ps: hopefully someone will chip in if there are polarity issues.

Hi Colleen!

Congrats on making the second big switch! First away from analogs, second - away from GS...
What kit did you buy from V4L? Most of their kits include the chargers you'll need...

I'm a big V4L fan... I think you'll be really happy with the product they provide.

My thought would be, just forget about compatibility, give your old GS gear to a friend, every Vaper has a friend who still smokes and wants to try it out... Also, make sure to pick up one of the V4L Super Xl's, the biggest batteries they carry, at 280mAh they really last a lot longer between charges...

Thanks for the quick replies! I tried not to buy the biggest kit, but did get the Ultimate starter kit from V4L. So much for restraint....I ordered the PCC and some extra chargers and cartomizers this morning! LOL! Being married to a CPA I'm sure he's tracking my purchase totals, but he's so thrilled I'm done with analogs I don't think he minds. (Or....he does and knows better than to say anything! LOL!)

One more question - Which cartomizers do you prefer...the WOW or the Premium? I do plan eventually to buy the juice and refill, but a step at a time! I wonder about the throat hit/vapor on these.

I absolutely love the Wow cartomizers in Coffee, Pancake, Black Licorice and Peppermint - but I know that many people are fans of the premium liquids, so it's really going to be a trial-and-error process for you.

I would strongly recommend that you buy juice and refill your cartos because to me, the refilled ones taste even better than when they're fresh out of the package prefills.

Hey Colleen -

I started with GreenSmoke, and very quickly moved on after finding this place. For what it's worth, customer service was great about my return. I'd do it, if you are still inside the 30-day window. I was pretty careful, took picture before I shipped back of everything and make sure to get a tracking number.

I can't answer your question about V4L, but others will be able to I bet. I went with a Riva bundle from Liberty Flights, and it has been great for me.

Good luck!

For me, I like the WOW Vapors...

The best I found is the WOW Cool Cart on the Passthrough...

One thing you'll notice pretty quickly, is that carts are very different on the passthrough, that's because it's a different voltage level, so the cool carts are nice on the passthrough, but a little weak for my taste when on the Batteries...

...and like VapingRulz said, probably the best thing about V4L is that you can experiment with a tons of combinations and flavors pretty inexpensively, it might sound silly, but making a document and writing you thoughts down can really save you a lot of time in the learning process. Just write down what type of cart it is, the flavor, the nic concetration, and if it was a passthrough or normal... Then make notes with you thoughts...

Because V4L has over 80 options, it can be easy to get overwhelmed and forget the specifics of you likes and dislikes...

If you have the flavormax carts, i have exchanged those before for stronger ones. You should be able to return them i guess...if they are the flavor max triple sealed ones...they come in like gum style foil thing you have to pop them out from...and have the little green leaf stuck on the mouth peice...give em a call, who knows.... I switched from green smoke to an ego setup. much happier and wish i didnt spen $129 for a GS starter kit....129? Really...sheesh my ego setup is like $30...oh well...its over with.

let's call V4L KR808D-1 which is also (in a different style) SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6, and all of the 3rd party KR808D-1 cartomizer blanks. And Greensmoke is KR808D-2 aka E9

I do not know if the batteries are the same polarity. The only adapters I know of are meant for using D1 battery with D2 cartos, and one of using D2 battery with D1 cartos, and one for using 510 battery with D2 cartos (those are at leCig.com). IF the batteries are the same polarity then the adapter might work in a charger cable, but if they are not the you will fry/melt the battery and it will be dangerous.

The two models should be near identical in power. Most people use and recommend manual batteries. If GS does not offer manuals then that would be one difference. Manual batteries make it easier to get a good hit with less work. Manuals are safer from being damaged or killed by juice leaks.

The V4L manuals still have a hole in the threaded end - it looks blocked inside though, and they have a custom 10 second cutoff which means you can take a drag up to 10 seconds long, Their button is normal size. V4L batteries are unregulated 3.7v - up to 4.2 off the charger and then a plateau of 3.7v and a drop off at the end (why I recommend the standard aka 78mm size for 120mm cig). V4L is basically the originally manufacturer current gold button style but with a custom 10 second cutoff.

The other 3 brands are the newer KR808D-1 threaded models - they may all have a rubberized finish. They are 3.6v regulated. Their manuals are totally sealed on the threaded end have a very small partially recessed button. They have the same sizes of battery as V4L but each size has 40mah more charge because of the voltage regulation. The downside the the 5 second cutoff. With manuals you like to press the button in 1-2 seconds before starting your drag so good vapor is ready when you start dragging. But with these, if you do a 2 second early press that only leaves 3 seconds for dragging. That isn't much of a problem for me - their cartos put out a good amount of vapor easily.

I use both styles, all manuals.

Re cartos -

The V4L WOW cartos are hot - I started using a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece mainly so I could keep my lips on these long enough to get a drag! Now I do that on my main cartos of any type (wider stream of vapor, easy to remove to check/add liquid). These cartos give great hit but sometimes not big drags. the stuffing is wrapped pretty tight in V4L cartos. The Coolcarts are not as hot, not quite as much hit.

The Bloogplanet/SI cartos have bottom coils and are wrapped less tightly. The vapor is cooler due to the bottom coil and they may be a bit higher ohms than the WOW cartos. BUT they give a bigger easier drag. So I like these too and recommend you try both. Since their stuffing is looser, they may be able to work well with slightly thicker juices than I use. I use thin juices only.

Juices - I use PG w/ 20% or less VG (often 10% or less) and some WOW juices from V4L which are also nice thin juices. I avoid all juices that leave flavoring sediment int eh carto stuffing (clogs the carto, ruins the drag, shortens the carto's life). I can get about 7 days use out of a KR808D-1 carto.

Re flavors - they have so many sample packs at V4L! There were some flavors I hated (overdone) but I love WOW Vanilla (not in any sample pack - sweet cotton candy-like), and WOWbacco (a cocoa tobacco with very little tobacco at all, and WOWboy is the same with a bit of mint added). WOW Sour Cherry has some fans. WOW 555 is overdone but interesting. Be sure to try the WOW Tobacco Shop sampler (has 3 of the juices I just mentioned). I've only used the blank cartos from SI and Bloog.
