I ordered the Pro kit from GreenSmoke. Is that a good e-Cigarette to start with? I have not used e-Cigarettes before. If not, please reply with the brand that you think is good to start with (price is not that relevant at this time). Thanks.

PS: to be frank, this forum was quoted as the definitive source but it really was very overwhelming to me and I think to persons who are just beginning to get into e-Cigarettes. All I wanted was a authentic links where I could buy but I was not able to find the relevant posts in the forum. I ended up searching on the Internet for e-Cigarette reviews and landed on a site that listed GreenSmoke among the top three.

Greensmoke is a good e cig, over priced but nice flavoring, I love their Tobacco Absolute, the best is the Volt from smokelessimage.com. you did good I believe, you could have gotten something cheaper and better quality like the volt but since money is not that relevant then I wont even go there. Good luck.

If not to late cancel the order, if you allready have it keep this site bookmarked because you will be back. Mini kits like greensmoke are notorius for failure and expense. Eventually swapping batteries every hour or so will get old and you will start lookin for something better. The good news is when you do look for somthing better you will be surprised that it will probably be cheaper than what you paid for the greensmoke set up. There is probably a reason greensmoke, smoke 51, white cloud, and the rest are not on the forum suppliers list here Forum Suppliers List
I'm not trying to come off like a ...., but look around and you will not see a green smoke following on this site.

Thank you, genelman, exactly what I was hoping to hear back :) As I get more into e-cigarettes, I will get into the nitty gritty on the forum but, for now, I just want to get started and your reply helped me on my way :) BTW, I got a 50% discount on greensmoke from a site that reviews e-cigarettes, so what I paid may not be all that bad anyway!

The important thing to know about Greensmoke, Blu and all the other slick rebrandings of generic models is what they are. Greensmokes are repainted KR808D1s. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, as they and 510s are the two most recommended gateway devices.

If you Google KR808D1 and shop around, you'll find that even with 50% off the top, you were still overcharged—not gouged, mind you, but overcharged. Nothing to be ashamed of there, as most of us didn't find ECF quickly enough early on to avoid being exploited.

I certainly wasn't. The M402 kit I bought cost twice what I'd have paid with a little guidance—except I wouldn't have bought an M402.

The good news is that you have solid hardware, a basis upon which to grow.

totally agree with PoliticallyIncorrect. However, with 50% discount, it is a sweet deal.

Not so sure. Presuming he bought the Express Kit ($89.99), 50% off means $45. LitCigs has them for $34.95.

Look, I said overcharged, not reamed. I wish I had done so well starting out.

A lot of us bought Blu or Greensmoke or disposables, learned from them that vaping was going to work as a replacement for smoking, then got excited about the possibility that vaping could be made so good as to become preferable to smoking on every dimension. (Cost, flavor, variety, health, enthusiasm, comfort, etc.) We all spent money we didn't need to in order to try stuff out, but in the end nobody cries about it too much.

I've had my greensmoke for 10 days now.. Haven't touched an analog since and loving every minute of it.. I'm not an all day vapor so I find the 3 batteries that I got in my kit (I found that 50% off code too) work out well for me.. But there is an awfully long charge time on them, so I can see how it could be annoying after awhile. I'm in love with the Red Label cartomizer but I'm eagerly awaiting the stuff I ordered from Pink Vapor to start refilling my carts with :) By the way, if you do decide to keep the GreenSmoke.. Don't throw away used Carts!!! They can be refilled with cheaper juice from other sites. You tube is a wealth of info on that and the nice people here were kind enough to point me in that direction :)

Welcome to the forum 271cig!
I started out with 2 GreenSmoke kits last May when decided to quit analogs. I switched to 510
battery mods after 3 out of 4 batteries had to return for replacement within 3 months of ownership and I haven't been using them since. Their Flavour Max is good but expensive and doesn't last as long as they advertised, same with their battery life. My long batteries only lasted 3 hrs max even I was not a heavy vapor. If $$ is not a factor, it isn't a bad choice for beginners. Some people have allergy problem with PG in flavourings and GreenSmoke's Flavor Max contain very high proportion of PG. Anything that can help you quit analogs is worth trying! If you don't like it, you can ship them back for a refund, GreenSmoke does standby their 30 days return policy.

Welcome to the forums, 271cig. Don't be too worried about the first set of gear you get - you've got a goal in mind, and that's already a good start.

While GreenSmoke, Volts, Bloog, and several others are rebranded (or slightly reworked) KR808D-type devices, they're pretty accessible (ubiquitous and "cheap" - to a point), they give you the sensation that you're using a familiar crutch (they do feel a lot more like analogs than some of the more complex or advanced PVs), and ultimately you might find that it wasn't the nicotine and other chemicals keeping you on, but the hand-to-mouth action of the analog.

Enjoy it, put forth your best effort, and then slowly research what you would like in your next device. I don't mind switching out batteries or cartomizers. I usually carry 3 batteries for a full day and 5 cartomizers with different flavors. Some feel like it's a burden (or annoying), others find the ritual a bit comforting. Different strokes, you know?

My only advice is: get flavors from different vendors and get some blank cartomizers that work with your GreenSmoke (most 808d cartomizers should). I don't think GreenSmoke sells blank cartomizers, but several do. Do the same with juice vendors, there's a bunch of favorites, but picking up 5ml bottles of different flavors and trying them out to find a good sweet spot is a another step in the vaping world.

In the end, whatever keeps you off cigarettes and having fun, is the key.

With the 50% atleast it's only moderately over priced, rather than the brutal back alley beating they inflict on most of their vict... err, customers. ;) All joking aside, greensmoke is a typical mall kiosk rip off brand. They make money selling to the uninformed at a 200% or more mark up, while making untruthful performance claims.

Exactly! I started with disposables, then got a "real" kit which turns out to be MUCH cheaper in the long run and a million times more satisfying. Plus the battery lasts for a good 24 hours of heavy use (I got a KGO.) But the disposables are a weak, expensive gateway to vaping so you did much better than I did. :)

PoliticallyIncorrect, you said GreenSmoke and others "rebrandings of generic models". I thought GreenSmoke was the original inventor. What would you recommend?

You would be much better off with a Kgo, E-Power or Riva with manual batteries than Greensmoke who invented nothing. They just buy their mini battery PV from China and resell it at much inflated prices. They put all their money into marketing and hype advertizing. You will be changing batteries every hour or so. With the three models I mentioned, you will get models that out perform greensmoke by a mile and at a lower cost. They will give you 6 hours on a charge and produce warmer and fuller vapor:

The KR808D-1 was made originally by a Chinese firm, Shenzhen Kanger Technology Co., Ltd. Since then, It's been revamped under more trade names than could be counted on the fingers of both your hands.

The thing to remember is that imitation is the sincerest for of flattery. A lot of people get a KR808D-1, are satisfied with it, never move on—and more power to them. I would recommend taking the one you have as far as it gets you. When/if battery life, voltage output or just plain curiosity becomes an issue for you, there's a myriad of eGo types or battery mods to consider. The answer at that time will depend on your question, what you're looking for next.

Me and my girlfriend got the greensmoke as our first vape. Their not bad really, their just to expensive. After we switched over to ego and started doing our own filling instead of using prefilled green smoke we are paying much less and the experience is much better. Greensmoke is fine for introduction to vaping but not much more than that.
