Hello everyone! I decided to stop lurking and create a post (insert parade and ticker tape here).

About a year ago, my wife decided to quit smoking and give e-cigs a try. She took to it rather well and quit smoking very quickly, almost immediately. I’m very proud of her for that. Me on the other hand, I didn’t want to quit. I really liked smoking.

We relocated last month to a place where smokes cost 40% more. When I bought that first pack for $7.00 I became highly motivated to give vaping a serious try. It was bad enough to be paying what I did before we moved. It wasn’t the cigarettes that were going to kill me, it was their cost. Just so you know, I am probably one of the biggest tightwads around. I once pinched a penny so tight it broke in two. Luckily, I have a glue gun.

So, here I am. I still smoke about 2 or 3 analogs a day, but I am now addicted to vaping. And I mean addicted. Seriously, I just sold my shoes on E-bay so I can buy some more Bounty Hunter. Our computer room looks like the banks of the Potomac on a foggy day and the wife has been looking for a light house so our dogs can navigate it safely.

Oh well, at least I'm in good company.

Welcome to ECF! And congrats I guess on slowing down the cig habit. I quit myself about 4 weeks ago, just stopped smoking and picked up the ego....

Anyway, seems I can't quite get the fogbank you're talking about...maybe it's because it's so hot here but no matter how big and full my vape cloud gets it vanishes within seconds.

Welcome , and soon , you'll be off all analogs , and vaping full time (chain vaping) as many of us do . Plus you control the amount of nicotine , and what flavor . Which your ciggy's didn't allow . Plus after you settle on a PV , your monthly cost could go way down . Mine did not however , but then I buy every mod , in sight . But then , It's still way better for my health , so I don't care .

Welcome to ECF!!

From a vaper in a high cost state (NJ = ~$7.50 / pack) it's easy to keep the cost in check> :)

Keep a careful record of what you're spending vs. the cost of smokes, so long as the total cost of
vaping gear, supplies are 1/2 what smokes would have cost, no guilt !! :)

Oddly enough, I don't mind paying for vaping stuff. I know in the long haul scheme of things, it will be alot cheaper than smoking.

I've been using the wife's pv, so I haven't incurred a lot of start up costs. However, I could see myself getting into modding which could be very costly and probably even a little dangerous.
