Hey everyone! I just picked up my first disposable Blue two days ago. I have been smoking a pack of Pall Mall lights per day since I was 16 (I am now 30).

I love the fact that I can use vaping to release myself from the grip that chemicals and tar of analog smokes has had on me. But, I'm looking for a kit to start off with.

This task has proven very daunting. There are so many different brands to chose from its making my normally clear and methodical had spin. I thought I had it narrowed to a brand called Volcano, but now I just dont know.

Now I need some advice. I would like to go with a brand that is easy to deal with, will be around for a while, and I'm not worried about aathetics. I just want a kit that will be relatively inexpensive, reliable, and fun to use.

I am mechanically inclined, so I enjoy the science and physics of how this all works, so I would like a kit that I can mod if I want.

Do any of you have any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

Welcome! I'm new here, too. only been vaping for about two weeks and smoke free for 9 of them(since I got one with batteries that last). Got my start on the gas station e-cigs that everyone seems to start out with. Starting out with Blu is better than what i had. I didnt know about the twist models so I don't have the ability to change my voltage, but other than that, I am happy with my vGo (an ego type). Personally I really likethe Kanger KR510D-M3 clearomizer I have been using. I can see how much is in there so I don't run it dry. The kit itself came with cartomizers and without e-liquid, but I got it from EV and they included 2 bottles with it. I know they give a discount for ecf forum members. There is a code somewhere on their ecf supplier forum. I do think I would have gone with an ego twist if I had known about it first. That definitely seems to be the most recommended for starting out.

If I were to start again from scratch I'd read this Get Started and then buy everything he suggests. Then I would go to Mt. Baker Vapor and buy a sample pack of juice that looks interesting. You should be able to find coupon codes for both suppliers to get the price down a bit. Seriously though...Buy big. It will take a big battery that lasts all day and some good juice in a fuss free delivery system to get you off the stinkies.

I found a local e-cig store that totally walked me through everything I needed to know to get started on the right track. I ended up with an eGo-T. I also found out that they have a plethora of different juices. I went with a Kentucky Bluff (15mg) and a mint (12mg) both in 30ml. I gotta say, this is a world of difference from my first Blu disposable.

I'm all in now. I haven't smoked in four days and I don't even want to. It got to the point where I would only smoke half a cigarette before I'd be sick of it and put it out. I'm going to toke on these new flavors for a while, then go back and check out some others. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so I'll probably end up trying some mellow flavors.

Thanks for the help guys! I feel like I'm part of a community now. Especially after my first visit to my local shop.

An ego-T is an excellent battery to start with. The ego tanks and clearos out in the wild now mate perfectly with this device. Great that you have a local shop to check out!

If you haven't stopped by already, I'd also recommend Vermillion River near you (Lakeville). Their sampler packs offer nice variety. They have alot of "Kentucky <something>" flavors, but I didn't see Bluff. :)
