Hi everyone. I am on day 10 of no smoking since I bought two Ego C4s for my wife and I. It has helped but we just caN't seem to get things sorted out. No matter what we do, we get e-liquid through the clearomizer when we use it. I have several plastic ones, each with different favors. I bought some glass ones and same problem. After two or three hits, it is disgusting and I end up with e liquid in my mouth. My wife and I both have the same problem with her unit and mine. We buy e liquid from a local shop. I prefer mostly the coffee favors as I don't really like anything fruity. The hit seems to be stronger. Any help you can offer is appreciated.

Absolutely do the slower, more mellow draw than you would with a cigarette (it should take several seconds longer than a cig hit).

For those, you also need to unscrew the little mouthpiece to fill, right? I found that if I wiped that mouthpiece off very well (the bottom of it), and sometimes even the little rubber piece it gets pushed against (use tweezers to get it out), I had better luck.

Just look around near that mouthpiece to see if you get build ups; I do constantly. If I keep up with that, I rarely get anything besides vapor in my mouth.

It will probably still happen occasionally, especially if the tank gets moved around a lot, laid horizontally, etc. Bottom coil tanks (labeled BCC, BDC, or BVC; Bottom _____ Coil) tend eliminate this problem for me, if you're ever in the mood to pick some up.

Hi Brett K,

I've only been vaping for about 3 weeks, but I can tell you that I had the same problem coming off of smoking for 27 years. You're probably just taking too hard of a hit. Vaping is a bit different from smoking traditional cigarettes. The problem comes from not feeling like you're getting a strong enough hit or vapor. Taking long, slow/shallow draws should remedy the problem. Never take a draw with the vaporizer above a horizontal position, because any flooding will run down into your mouth.

If you hear a gurgling...it's flooding. This can be a problem with drawing too hard, your e-liquid being too thin or not enough wicking in the coil head, which most likely is a deficiency of "flavor wicking" - a second layer of wicking that rests above the coiled wick the helps provide e-liquid to the coil and also helps keep the e-liquid from back-flowing into your mouth.

My best advice is to check out some related videos on YouTube. Hope it helps. :)

Also, if you have a flooded tank...remove the tank and hold a paper towel at the bottom, then blow through to clear the flooding. Blowing too hard will cause the tank to continue flooding, so you want to blow just hard enough to clear the excess e-liquid. The best way is to empty your tank back into the bottle, then blow it clean and re-fill it again. Make sure the contact on the bottom of the clearomizer and the battery contact are clean of any juice. Hope this helps. :)

I had this problem many times before. My best advice for a temporary fix is to empty out you're tank, get tweezers (or something alike) and from the bottom pull the center pin out. Put the center pin back in. Once you do so put a little water in it and put it on a dry surface. Wait a minute or so and pick the tank up. If you see any water on the surface play around with the center pin and repeat the process til there is no leakage!

to ecf Brett K. So glad you are here and so sorry you are frustrated. A lot of good suggestions so far though. That is what I adore about ecf and the people here. When I first started I loved the evods and Protanks. So many new things out there. I am sure you will find something that makes ya'll happy. :) Look forward to reading about your journey and what you find.

Hi,

Check that your batteries are firing when you vape. That turned out to be the problem in my case for the same issue. And yes, they were new. I went through 3 weeks of frustration because as a newbie I didn't know what a "normal" vape was.

There are two possible problems. One is bad batteries to start ... they do fire sometimes, which makes it so hard to recognize the cause. And they appear charged, with the LED glowing as if they are firing. I discovered the cause when I tried direct dripping, and could see/hear when the battery fired ... or not. My 510 starter kit was not a brand name, again because I didn't know "from nuttin' ". A new kit from a new vendor solved the problem. Actually, 2 new kits from 2 vendors, just in case :) Both happened to be Kangers ... an EMUS and a mini Protank 3. And then I was vaping just like real people! I did miss the 510 size, though, and have since got a JOYE 510. I use them all.

The other possible problem is the contact at the top of the battery ... the little disc inside the threaded part ... can get stuck down, and the battery won't fire. I remember reading somewhere, perhaps in one of the manuals, that this could happen, and to gently pry it back up. This happens sometimes with the EMUS. The cause appears to be me screwing down the clearomizer or cartomizers that I also use too tightly.
