    Greetings,

I switched to vaping in 2014 and was an active member here for 1/2 dozen or more years however it has likely been almost as long since I've logged in. :)

I still vape every day and in much the same ways as I was doing near the start. Thankfully long ago I was able to outfit myself with supplies to last a lifetime so they are coming in handy. :)

While I mostly vape unflavored ~%100 VG @ 7mg & 18mg I do like tossing some flavors into the mix from time to time. All my vaping is with Temperature Control, <=20W on single coils and <=30W on dual coils. All coils hand wound NIFE48. While I generally prefer single battery mods I do have a few dual battery mods that I keep in my use rotation.

    Happy vaping everyone!

Welcome back to ECF, GeorgeRushed. 2014 is a memorable year for me as well, that's when I switched. I vape unflavored mostly too, but a 80/20 PG/VG 25 mg/ml mix. RTA's and a mech, though I do have and use a couple regulated mods.

My old user name was "GeorgeS" however it was locked out AND I no longer have access to the email the account was created with.

Thus making the prior account both inaccessable or usable.

It has likely been >5yrs since my prior inaccessable or usable account was accessed my myself.

    :)

They changed the way nic is measured. It now goes by percent. This isn't much of a change as nic is pretty close to water weight, but the reason they did it was to correct a misunderstanding about potency. The highest I’ve seen store juice is 6% which is 5.9?ml and that is considered a full flavor. The lowest I’ve lately seen it is 3% though, which would i think be in light, not even ultralight territory. Disposables are usually 5%, So disposables are as hard to quit as cigarettes. I recently titrated off nicotine for blood pressure and I was mixing sub 1% juice. I did it without discomfort though. My big issues came at 12 & 3.

I'll shoot you a PM so you can give me your new email address. I'll make the appropriate changes so you can log into your original account.

While the above is interesting I'm not quite sure what it has anything to do with my return to ECF and the thread I started. :)

I have a 2x Lifetime supply of Nicotine since ~2016. I honestly feel for those that are stuck purchasing juice in stores.

BTW: 'light', 'ultralight' and assorted terms that tobacco companies paired with some of their cig offerings rarely had any indication of "nicotine per hit" or "nicotine per cig" at all as they always wanted the MAXIMUM addiction potential in their products.

This is the biggest change I’ve seen since 2016. Even bigger than the rise of disposables. You can get the old good stuff but technology basically froze in 2018 or so. Everything went into disposables which STILL haven’t reached 2018 levels of tech. My story is much like yours and it blind sided me. I get that you DIY. It would be the only way to really do that.

Actually the "big" news around where I live is the %100 tax on 'vaping stuff" and the general degrade of the industry back to tiny-tiny factory coils/atomizers in 'pod' like short life overpriced products. :(

The local vape shop I stopped by last week had their display cases FILLED with all sorts of shapes/colors of <= 2012 technology.

However they DID have an Geek Vape 18650 mod that does an ok TC regulated vape. (I picked one up - abet 3x the cost of it online, I have 5 copies of its larger (21700 powered) brothers)

Yes, the local vape shop had a WALL of very very very overpriced juice - the meat & potatoes for local vape shops. :)

Only ONE model of replaceable battery mod and ZERO rebuildable atomizers. To think that >10yrs ago I picked up a couple of Squankers at that very same vape shop. :)

As far as flavors go: "Bull City Flavors" and Squankers are your FRIENDS however flavors gunk up coils forcing dryburn/rewick or recoil/rewick much to often for my tastes. :)

While retired and having lots of time on my hands, I got over playing with my vaping gear long ago.

The tax is not new to me. Its been around for a long time in my state. Before 2015. The thing about small overpriced stuff kind of dovetails.

Zero rebuildable attys is nothing new, though there was a period where they were available in B&M retail. Training the industry out of constantly trying to force proprietary crud on people took years and was gone in months. I had transitioned to online myself years ago. B&Ms seem to only carry them when the market forces it.

True. Fruit flavors are also generally awful. I suspect its all the sweetener.

I never did. Ive got mods taken apart in bags in my dedicated vaping gear highboy

So while IDK if new users get much of anything that is "mix and match" like we had long before, I find it rather sad.

The lone 'pod-mod' set I picked up was (like much of anything else these days) abandoned 1st by local vendors and then the OEM. <sigh>

The Capitalistic "better get all new stuff" mantra seems to have taken hold in the vaping industry.

Maybe later I'll post a review of my new GeekVape Aegis Solo 3. :)
