Here's my formal introduction:

Okay, first off, confession time...
I'm far from new here. Just newly registered. I've been "circling the waters" here for months, and all my best purchases in the vape world have come from researching this site (and to a lesser extent, others).
I'm far from a new vaper. I have played with the concept since near its inception. As such, I never had any hope for vaping to be a cessation device for me personally. The overwhelming number of accessories, juices, and nonsensical make/model/brand naming schemes make the transition a daunting one, to say the least. Then that fateful day, I talked myself into my first mod. A small bottom feeder box mod from V mod. This was better than the 510's and other styles I had tried at that point, but still not quite good enough for me... I lost a lot of interest in the vaping, still choosing to smoke, only occasionally turning to my vape device. Through diligent reading, searching, and countless helpful posts here at the forums, I decided a v-tube mod might be for me. I bought a yung june tube from a local vendor, and having spent the money on it, I "guilted" myself into not smoking until the unit/kit/juice had paid for itself. For the next 2 days I force-fed myself the vape , not ever really liking it too much, (but liking it better than *grumble* NO NICOTINE IN MY SYSTEM, *grumble*)... Around day three, I figured it all out. I'd been trying to smoke these vaping devices. After I figured out how to vape, and to do so effectively, it was smooth sailing...Smoke free for months now after nearly 25 years of the cancer stick...And good riddance!
Anyways, nice to "meet" you folks. Looking forward to making this more of a community stop for me, in addition to the informational paradise it was already !

tl;dr: Vaping>Smoking

Welcome. I've been reading here too for a while but just registered. I started with the regular 510s and eventually moved to the Inferno 650 battery and a tube tank before jumping to mods. I still miss the look of the regular 510s, but for my needs the bigger inferno and now mods really get me where I need to be. I've been smoke free for 14 months now and I'll never go back! Great post!

Yeah, the GEEK in me really wants to see the days that a small cigarette size device can hang with an 18650 monstrosity..heheh
Truly though, part of breaking the smoking habit (for me) was constant affirmation that this was NOT smoking, and as such , shouldn't really be all that simlliar afterall. And all the while , it was the more effective nicotine delivery device !

Thank you! I've always been a little "off-kilter", and I thought it a great allusion to the GREATEST movie of ALL time! :p
I think I must have eaten cigarettes before...the transistion to vaping was tremendously different for me. So much so that I KNEW I could never lie to myself that this was smoking. Instead, I started to constantly reaffirm that vaping was so much better in so many ways for me personally (better flavor, no smelly stuff, cheaper <---haha, not with my NEW addiction!, less harmful, etc). My mind still lies occasionally , and tells me I want a cig, but even HOLDING a cig feels alien now. I never thought I could break those habits so easily. Nearly 25 years, and I had only "quit" smoking once in my "career" for 10 months cold turkey. It wasn't terrible, but I was easily lured back into smoking after all those months. After starting to take vaping seriously, I had none of those negatives, and also the desire for analogs all but disappeared. Eventually I started to really like the vape (with better devices, juices, and what-not) and don"t see myself returning to THAT death sentence.

yeah.. not cheaper for me either.. I like my new toys and want MORE - though so far, performance wise, I'm happy with the volts and 2x volts. I just need more delivery vessels for different flavors and LABLES hehe

I've always said when whomever asked me did I want to quit or when was I going to quit (analogs) that the trick to that is WANTING to.. and I didn't. It was my rebellion to society and I still do not believe that tobacco on it's own promotes cancer in any way.. the additives .. of course but big tobacco just happened to be the scapegoat for something else.. but that's better left for another forum. :)

Welcome aboard. I also came in to say I like your handle. Congrats on not having any cigarettes. I had to tough it out a bit my first few days so I can relate to what you said.
That day when I realised I had come to like vaping far more than I had ever liked smoking was.... well, I was not in Kansas anymore Toto.
