I'm Lena and I'm from Greece. My husband (the heaviest smoker I ever have seen) just yesterday purchased an e-cig. Reading some articles online it got me thinking about the safety of that product. I'm a smoker myself but I don't think I want to quit it just yet..

I did try it (vaping).. Now I dislike both my cigarettes and vaping... :?:

So, around to find out more about the safety of it..

Lena,
thank you for having me - sorry for my English in advance.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Your English is fine, better than some of us Americans I'd say. So what did your husband purchase? There is a forum here on the health aspects of vaping. There is also a forum on available research which might be of interest to you. There hasn't been a lot of scientific research performed yet but you will find a couple of articles if you look hard enough. The main ones were performed by the government of New Zealand, and another by Harvard University I believe. You can probably find one or both of them doing a search on Google Scholar. Maybe someone who replies to this post can link them for you.

Welcome to the ECF!

cskent has given you a good answer. The main ingredients in ecig eliquids are either Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin or both and then nicotine. No studies have found those components to be carcinogenic. Depending on how deep you want to get into it - here's some links that may interest you.
