I have been lurking here for awhile and thought I would actually register, say HELLO, and ask a question for all you experienced vapes.
I have been smoking (regular cigarettes) for about 35-ish years and have had enough. After much reading here, I have decided on the Joye 510-T starter kit and have narrowed down where I will buy the kit, juice, etc down to 2 seemly respected suppliers...." LiteCigUsa" and "The Vaper Pro".
I would appreciate opinions from those of you with wayyyy more experience than I in regards to places to make the purchase and if any coupon codes are currently available.

THANKS !!! Bill

There's a coupon code master list on this forum.

Personally (with experience) eGo-T isn't very good. Alot of maintenance and problems with wicking, little flavor, etc caused me to steer away from the eGo-T quickly. The eGo is good, but I'd recommend the Riva kits from Liberty-Flights.com. the voltage is a little higher. It's the same design, and the button is more comfortable. Get some Boge LR cartos, or better yet, some dual coil cartomisers. Tons more vapor and flavor!

I have no experience with either of the vendors you listed.

Good luck, Bill! Welcome to ECF. There is a learning curve to vaping, but once you find your sweet-spot, it's a life-changer (for the better!)

Tanks get mixed reviews. I used an eGo T setup for about 4-6 months. I still use the batteries.
The Riva Lite kit from Liberty Flights is about $30
You'll still need some juice for it. Your best bet is to buy a bunch of small bottles to try out. You may be surprised what you like and don't like.
Welcome to the forum :)

I passed on the tanks when I was doing my research on what I wanted to start with...while some absolutely love them, there are too many reports of them being overly fiddly ranging from problems with the wicks/attys needing adjusting and leakage problems...I would also recommend a fat batt model such as the eGo/Riva/Kgo(all 510 threaded) since they are only slightly fatter(sharpie sized) and the batts last 5,6,7,8,9,10 times as long...Liberty-Flights.com is a good place to get the 510slims, eGos or Rivas(30bux for kit with 20% discount button on top left of their page) or hoosierecigsupply.com for the kGo(42 bux) with it's really awesome batt...........

Hello there! I am new to the forums as well though I have been on ecigs since March of 2010 when a friend of mine brought some home from a "convention" he attended that promoted the use of vaping.

For the first couple of weeks, I regularly switched back to analogs so that I could get that kick I was looking for but I soon fully committed to this already. It was a challenge at first, really. But you have to find your niche to make you stick.

If you're not fashion conscience and a practical individual, go with an eGo or variant. I would avoid the eGo tank. Ya won't be sorry!

BTW, I smoked 2 PaD for 45 years...

The OP is asking about the 510-T (slim model). Tanks are mostly a new-vaper attractant. The concept for many is better than the experience. it seems to me like about 50% of people who buy tank models end up not liking tanks.

If you want my opinion - I would never buy the 510-T just because its charger can damage other 510 batteries and because most 510-T's are automatic (harder to get a good hit, easier to kill or damage with juice leaks). if I wanted to try tanks I would buy a normal MANUAL Joye brand 510 kit (Joye to get good quality) or better, a Joye 510 mega xl manual kit so it has 60-70% longer charge (though quite long at 128mm w/ a cartomizers). Then I would but a single tank atomizer and 5-pack of tanks for trying tanks. And a pack of Boge 3 ohm cartomizers for trying cartomizers. And plenty of liquids, plus a 510 drip tip since with the sealed 510 manual batteries you can use a drip tip on a normal atomizer to test juices.

Or, if you realize first that 2-3 hours battery life (3-4 for mega xl) will not be enough for you, then skip slim ecigs and buy Ego or Ego-T or Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com (press the 20% off upper left front page, then shop)

NOTE - I do use manual 510 and mega xl 510 and Riva 510. I did buy a single 510-T tank atty and tanks just because I am a shopaholic and it looked neat. But I never actually tried it because I can't see any reason I would like it better than using cartomizers which hold more, keep my favorite flavors totally separate from each other, and have no atomizers to keep clean. So you may love the tanks but they just don't attract me.

The Joye 510 T that the OP is looking at could be either manual or auto, wasn't specified.
The batteries are regular Joye batteries, only that atomizer is different so it can puncture the tank.
Joye products are interchangeable with Joye products.
It is the same charger for either style, T or non T.
The only time you need to be concerned with a Joye charger is to not charge a small 510 battery on an eGo charger.

I don't see a coupon code for LiteCigUSA or The Vapor Pro.

True - at this point there is no way to tell which charger the buyer would be getting with a T kit unless the vendor states which it is.

But REAL Joye 510-T batteries are not normal 510 batteries. They claim a slightly different amount of charge, and I have seen it is stated where they are sold to only charge them on their own charger - but the opposite is actually true. According to one vendor the 510-T batteries can also be charged in normal 510 chargers and PCCs. However, several people have fried both 510 and Ego batteries by trying to charge them in the 510-T charger.

Some vendors cobble together their own "510-T" kits by adding 510-T tank atty and tanks to their existing stock of 510 batteries. Above I am talking about real Joye 510-T batteries.

I think some vendors have now gotten smart and are shipping T kits with normal 510 chargers.

Note this vendor:
"Our comes with regular Joye510 manual battery , not Joye 510-T auto battery. The auto version of the Joye 510-T battery only works with a Special USB charger."
http://indyvaporshop.com/joye-510t-manual-510.html

And this ECF member
"you probably know this already! but dormouse pointed out that 510 USB chargers are OK for ego batteries, but 510-t USB chargers are not OK with ego batteries or normal 510 batteries.

i fried an ego batt using a 510-t charger, it was scary but not like your experience. my battery just got very hot and the power switch melted. it smelt horrible."

(not the only one with that problem - one woman fried 8 normal 510 batteries before finding out about 510-T chargers)

Im a newb too but i just got my Joye Ego T from Liberty Flights on Saturday and i am absolutely in love with it. I got the 900 mAh battery and it lasts me all day long. I love not having to fuss with the cartridges and have had no leaking problems thus far (only a couple days in tho). I got my package VERY quickly (less than a week), and Liberty Flights has a button on the top left corner that you can hit for 20% off.

Dormouse & Classwife: Thanks so much for your input. Since my original post I have continued my research and am now leaning towards the Ego-T with 1300mah batt and dual coil attys (overkill ?) Trying to educate myself on the difference between the type A and type B models in addition to the difference between the "E" model and the "Mega" model.
Steep learning curve for the beginner for sure.
Feel free to chime in......
