As a way of introduction let me say that I have been using Green Smoke for at least 4+ years now. Probably one of the earlier users of this unit. Have been happy for the most part even though it does come at a premium cost. Green Smoke recently redesigned the batteries (which are now truly ineffective after a short period of time). Having gone through a new owner buy out and having totally changed policies penalizing the user for a poor battery design and with the cancellation of the lifetime warranty on batteries ($7.00 per battery to replace now) has put me over the edge.

I have been recharging by cartridges in a different way then what I've seen so far. Forgive me if this has been done before. I am a newbie to this site and exploring alternatives to my GS setup. I have been placing the little rubber plug the cartridge comes with when new back in the battery side of the cartridge, squirting 3 squirts from my favorite juicer into the mouth end of the cartridge (luckily my squeeze bottles end fits into the hole), tapping the side of the cartridge with the battery and intermittently blowing in the mouth piece of the cartridge in an attempt to spread the juice through out the cartridge. Seems to work fine when a cartridge is newer, however, a cartridge can only live so long. I have also rotated cartridges leaving them sit at least over night prior to recharging after each recharge. Seems that they don't have that burnt taste as often.

I must admit that I truly enjoy the convenience and simplicity of the GS e-cig. As a professional it is also a little less obtrusive as some of the other options available. I would love any recommendations that anyone might have to offer while I continue to research what is posted here.

I was in my local vape shop a few months ago and listened to a lady telling us the same thing about trying to fill those cigalike cartridge with different juice........ Not that that helps you but know you are not the only one out there lol. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon with some good advice, if not maybe a new post about cigalike advice or something of that nature may yield a Lil more input.

I no nothing about carto's / GS setups but maybe an upgrade would help.. ?

Maybe a Nautilus Mini or a Aspire Triton Mini paired with a mini volt or a nugget or Pico box mod.. Maybe even a Cuboid and Cubis.

That's what I would do anyway if I were a MTL vapor...Well no, I would buy a Merlin RTA or a KF5 but that is going into building your own coils and I don't think you want that..

Welcome. Maybe check out the thread, Pod Mods for small refillable ecigs.
Pod Mods: Which One Are You Liking the Most?

@GSalternative, you've lasted longer than I ever could with a ciga-like. I don't believe I'd still be vaping if I was still trying to use those. Maybe consider something a little bigger? I think you'd find the performance and overall experience to be extraordinary.

Thank you all for your feedback! Guess I'm just an old fart and hold to the old saying of "don't fix what isn't broken" :) Harder to keep up with new technology. Believe me when I say that even in the world of vaping this is a new technology, nothing like this was even in the brain stage as I was smoking. And in viewing this site, there has been multiple evolutions within the world of vaping within the last few years.

Vape away,

Been reading the pod mod thread. Bit pricey but I've gone around the bend with the biggies.
Could rationalize a lil vape these days..

Greensmoke have quit doing business in the UK. I welcome that move enormously.:thumb:

The vacuum created by legislation will lead to some innovative products. Some might be good, I guess.

Of course, the running costs and the efficacy are the sticking points. Personally, I shan't be buying a tobacco company product at all.

The facts were (new dawn and all that) that cig-a-likes in the UK were nothing short of daylight robbery towards the end. Sales of the #1 brand are so poor, even the tobacco company that owns them (and charges $6 per cartomizer) is considering giving up selling them.

We have no idea of the landscape... but it will be here in November 2016. That's getting very close.

Welcome and glad you joined. I started out with K808 cartos, decent vapes. If it works for you and your happy with everything, this is what it's all about.

It was upgrading from 808s that lead me to ECF.
9,000 posts later and I still can't decide if they would have got me off the smokes.
The RN4081s were the real piece of overpriced junk. Thankfully most people were saved that fate. $5,000 a year they would have cost. Terrifying.
