Just got this GeekVape 25 (without the top air option) and I'm impressed..the juice holes are bigger as well as the build deck..I wicked with bacon cotton with the tails going all the way to the bottom of the juice channels..No dry hits in 3 fill ups already..this version is alot better in performance and easier to build..lots of room on that spacious deck, and the fact it holds about 5.2 MLS of juice..(supposed to hold 6) anyways I really like it and plan on ordering another one in black... Just my 2¢, lol

Hey smacksy - I haven't researched it extensively, but I thought the prevailing wisdom is that the cotton should just touch the top of the juice channels. You're obviously having success with putting them all the way down? Is that still working for you?
Hi Baha,
Yeah it's still working good..
First I removed that retaining ring,
Installed new cotton wicks and trimmed them just long enough to go all way down in the juice channels..next I juiced them up to get them to stay in the channels as I reinstalled that ring over them..mind you these wicks were not that thick and slid easily in my 3mm ID coils...I believe this is the way GeekVape meant how to build the Griff, and why they made that little wick retaining ring..In any case this build has been wicking great in the 25..much bigger juice holes probly helps alot to that end..
No flooding and no dry hits..just a great vape! [emoji4]

I like mine, but my Herakles V2 RTA is better. The wider dual juice channels rather than 4 small juice channels make it easier when using big coils with really thick wicks. It's much better when using max vg juices because it doesn't restrict juice flow nearly as much as the Griffin 25 does.

It's just a whole lot easier with those two massive juice channels. It also has more airflow with the two wider air holes.

With those wide open juice channels (?) to me it looks real easy to have flooding issues... especially if you carry this tank in around in your pocket maybe...looks interesting, but not enough to order one, I'm very happy all the way around with the 25, least for now anyway, lol, thx for your post and comparison [emoji106]

Mine has never leaked a drop.

I've had far fewer wicking problems than I did with the Griffin 25. It's not anywhere near as confined and picky. Wrap large diameter coils, stuff a lot of wick in there, and tuck it all into the juice channel. Easy. As long as you've got the juice channel filled with fluffy wick you're good.

The Griffin is much more picky. Too much wick is a problem. Got to get it in 4 smaller juice channels without fouling the threads. Got to be more careful of the length of the tails. Too much wick leaves a wad at the top of the juice channels which can cause problems. It's just more confined.

I suppose the Griffin 25 would be better for people who use smaller diameter coils or single coils and thus, smaller wicks, but if you're wrapping 2.5mm or larger coils and working with big fluffy wicks the Herakles is much easier and works better.

And it has better air flow. It's the first subohm tank I've had where I don't run it wide open. You can get HUGE amounts of air through it.

Unknowingly to me my brother has had the Herkales 25mm V-2 for a while now..Talking to him on the phone he convinced me of it being better than the Griff 25...(along with your positive post). Anyway I just ordered one a few minutes ago from Element Vape..What coils would you recommend? I have some 24g Nichrome on hand...

I picked one up a week or so ago. I tossed in some 3mm ID 28AWG TI coils. I'm of the belief that the 'ring' is ment to trap wick so after threading the wick I carefully installed the retaining ring, then trimmed the wick sticking out the 4 holes.

I ran a tank through it. No leaks. No dry hits. Seems to perform like a dual coil tank ought to. I got the version with the top-air option.

I had retired my smaller Griffin because of constant seepage around the AFC ring but this one has been bone dry.
