I have tfv4 which is well known for leaking. So what I did was to make sure that I don't fill the juice to the brim. Just fill it to about half way.

BTW, how's the flavour on Griffin? I'm considering to get it.

more cotton, cut off between the gap stops leaking, and 2.5mm stops the leaking

if you are getting spitbacks, its also a possible symptom of not enough cotton

Man, I got the Griffin recently and it's giving me no joy. Leak and leak and leak. have watched through a load of vids and made v sure i have more than enough cotton in the coils (claptons)... Am wondering if it's an o-ring problem... after mopping up the table a few times and wiping down my mod and rebuilding the atty 3 times in one sitting, I've put it aside for a long weekend or a long rainy night.

Feeling let down.

I think your leaking problem could be a) not enough cotton, or b) didnt close the juice holes before filling the tank.

I've had my griffin for 2 months now, only leaks if i forget to do the above.

I was aware of the juice holes and air holes problem and made damn sure they're shut.
On my second build I slowed down even more and took more care. After filling with juice it didn't leak... Left to stand on The Duplo brick for 10 min and it was OK. Mounted on my MOD and it was still fine. Opened airholes, still OK.
But once I opened the juice holes, it leaked again.
Wadded a bunch of tissue paper against the holes and watched the atty drain down just past the to connection of the top cap to the chimney. Suspect the O-ring is defective... After that level the leaking slowed but still leaked...

Sigh. Did a 3rd build making sure everything was tight but same thing happened.

Gave up. Washed up and went to sleep.

Sent from the road.

haven't used tanks in a couple of years which is probably y i suck at building them.
but i have bought quite a few in the last year or so (although i only used them for like half a tank at most).

i had similar problems as u are having with my griffin (more wick didn't necessary help).
it would never leak till it was left overnight.
probably took me like 7 or 8 tries with different wicking methods each time before getting it right.
haven't used the tank since though as i still prefer dripping by far.

just keep trying till u find the right wicking method for u.
might be better if u change the o rings first just to test it out so u don't waste your time though.

Yeah, I even thought of filling the tank with just water so I stop wasting juice. Sigh.

Tore down my Griffin again... Going v v v slowly.
Here r the coils:

And then I took apart the tank... Checked all the O-ring and realised that with the glass tank in place, the top of the chimney doesn't screw in flush to the lower half of the chimney:

Without glass:

I reckon this negates the effect of the O-ring inside, allowing a pressure shift and hence a leak.

I've already twisted them as tight as I can but there's still a gap with the glass tank in place. Any ideas?

Or did I get a lemon? I checked the serial number with the website and it's authentic. But online reviews said the finish and construction is impeccable... But one of the grub screws on one of the posts isn't seated well. I think it's a tapping issue; every turn either way is tight as hell and feels like I'm tearing the threads. Have tried switching the grub screws ard but no help. I really wasn't expecting this.

Would appreciate any insights.
