Morning guys! All I have is 2.5 minis so could someone explain to me what the P3 thread does? All my mins are the slant 510 type so I really want to understand the purpose and advantages of the flat P3 thread! Thanks all!

Three basic benefits/differences -

1)The P3 connector is bigger and stronger than a 510 connection, so P3 threaded toppers will attach better. The Kabuki is the only one I know of currently available with P3 threading.

2)The flat cap is more streamlined with 22mm toppers without using a beauty ring.

3)The 510 connector can be ordered from Provape and replaced by the consumer.

The slant cap is best suited for 18-20mm toppers (which includes my favorite), and there is some concern about the o-ring in the P3 cap being a bit less durable than the one piece slant cap.

Different strokes for different folks!

Thanks 440BB! That is exactly the info I needed! Since all my tanks are in the 18-20 range I really don't need a P3 thread and I don't use a Kabuki!
I have 10 of the 2.5 minis and that should hold me!

I believe I paid $79.00 for my first 2.5 mini which I bought 6-7 months ago right before they lowered the prices on them. Now I could get a Classic for the same price and not have to pay for a flat top upgrade...

$204.85 (10-May-2012, v2 w/extension cap and extra warranty).
