Gonna try this wire, I've tried Ti and Nickel and NiFe52.

None of these really do it for me. I cant seem to get the TCR or my build right. Prolly a little of both. My new mod has predefined profiles so I'll be using that. Looking for a guide somewhere online on what to buy. I dont know the resistance or gauges or anything. Is there something comparable to a sticky?

Thanks

To give you a rough idea Stainless S is about half the resistance of Kanthal. So you may (or may not as the case may be), want to move up a gauge. Throw some coil-builds into steam-engine to get a better understanding.

Use the same gauges you did when using kanthal, if that's what you were using earlier. I use 26 and 28 gauge, and occasionally 28 ga wrapped with 32 ga claptons, or twisted wires. The resistance doesn't really matter on a vw/tc mod so go with the gauges you're comfortable with.

I use only 28 guage stainless and only in temp control mode. But a nice thing about stainless, if I'm out and about and the mod won't stay in TC mode, which has happened a few times, I can carry on in watts mode. I recently realized that I'm getting the most consistant results in TC mode by making sure the coils are spaced, not contact. I also find the more minimal the spacing the better. I was having issues with hot legs developing a few days after a build seemed to be working fine. Spacing seems to have eliminated that. I'm also starting to suspect that a spaced coil stays cleaner longer.
