Woo hoo,,,, I made it, I made it........:rickroll:

My story:
I started smoking when I was 14ish. By the time I turned 30 I was up to 2 packs per day. for a while in my late 30s I was up to 4 packs per day but had been back to 2 per for the last 15 years. I'm 54 now. I had tried to quit 100's of times. each time I stayed quit less and less time. Of course each time I would go back to smoking I felt like a failure. the last time I quit was 10 years ago and I folded like a house of cards in a wind storm after 5 mins.

One year ago today I puffed my last cig. I did not intend to quit. I had vowed to quit quitting 10 years ago. I worked at a place where the breaks were 2 and sometimes 3 hours apart. I couldn't think about doing my job,,, only wanting a cig. A guy showed me one of those Blu's and I was interested. Sometime latter I got a TW Titan kit. with some 36 mg/ml juice. My thoughts were that I could ask my boss for a quick trip to the bathroom anytime I wanted so I would use this thing to get a quick nic fix between breaks. Thinking that 4 or 5 quick hits of the higher nic of the 36 mg juice may be as good as a whole cig.

The first day I was a kid with a new toy. I hit it so much that I only smoked 3 cigs that day and 2 the next and haven't had one after the 3 day at all. So now I tell people that I accidentally quit smoking.

As it turned out my brain liked the 36 a lot better than what ever I was getting from a regular cig.
The taste of an e-cig is different but after I got it in my head that it was no different than changing brands, all was well.

OK then I found this place and the modder's section and turned vaping into a new hobby. After building a few VV mods I discovered that now I don't want anything that reminds me of reg cigs. So every now and then I will be talking to someone about one of my mods and they will kinda scoff and tell me that "You do know that you can buy those things that look just like a real cig".
They just barely understand when I tell them that I don't want anything that reminds me of reg cigs. but always ask "OK,, Now when are you going to quit the e-cigs"? I answer with ,,, "WHY". It hangs them up so bad. They just see it as smoking and that is so taboo now.

So other than a bad case of "Modumust Fever" I am happy to " VAPE ON"........... :vapor:

Congratulations!!!

I really like how you told yourself you were just "changing ciggarette brands"!! Thant might help my Dad since he is kind of having a hard time switching over to the "Vape Side" :vapor:

A big misconception is that an e-cig will taste just like a reg cig once you find a juice that is the same as what ever brand you are use to. WRONG,,,, Just because the brand name of your new juice is called the same name as the cigs that you smoked for umpteen years doesn't mean it will taste the same. But just because it is different doesn't mean that it isn't good enough to do the job of satisfying the brain.
Boost his nic. the brain is a funny thing, it knows when a better delivery method is being used.

Congratulations Gummy. My story is similar to yours. I've told everyone all along that ecigs were about the same thing as changing brands of cigarettes. I lucked out early on and found a juice I liked better than a cigarette. I mean like it's really good. I never said that about a cigarette. I just burned them suckers up and lit another one. Often 4 packs per day. The mods rule, heheh.

Congratulations, Gummy. And thank you for sharing your mod skills, creativity and wit. I don't want to gratuitously flatter you or anything, but I figure your anniversary might be as good a time as any to express appreciation for the many things you contribute to this place. So, thanks!

Oh, and you beat me by a month. Mine is July 12. Similar story, too. I never meant to quit. In fact, I was kind of like, "hey, wait a minute, I've been duped! I used to love smoking! No fair, somebody tricked me into liking vaping more!"

Enjoy your anniversary party.
