Are you sure it wasn't rubber cement!

I don't think they made super glue back then... :D

My granparents had mucilage. It had a red rubber wedge shaped lid so you could smear a flat surface with it. But mucilage is safe and edible - not a lot of the toxins in it some of the modern glues have.

Probably why they got rid of it. :facepalm:


Ooops saw Jerry post---I didn't think they made it anymore!!!
