Gurgling usually means its flooded - sizzling is what you want to hear.
It's a bit of a faff learning how many drops is too many (mooshy filler is good but pooling on top of filler is bad) but you will get there. I flood mine a lot so I know how you feel lol
Just blow out your atty if you flood, wipe it off and try again.

So yes, gurgling can be either a flooded atty or juice in the vents. I find, however, that a little bit of gurgling can be a good thing right after topping off. It makes sure everything is good and moist, which I have found to be the most important part of flavor, throat hit, and especially atomizer life. Before learning to err on the side of too moist rather than too dry, a persistent burnt taste was my biggest problem. As long is it quits gurgling after taking 4-5 puffs or so, you should be fine.
Edit: Oh man, I love vaping.

Hi - not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this question on - just started vaping this weekend, and love it for the most part. The pre-filled carts don't seem to be lasting very long, so I filled one of the blanks I ordered with juice. I did hear the gurgling you guys are talking about at first (even though I didn't think I had overfilled), but with this cart I filled myself, I keep getting juice in my mouth - YUK! Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

I know I'm fairly new at this but after 3 days of use, I was constantly flooding, gurgling, and generally getting mouthfuls of liquid. If I wasn't doing that I was inhaling burnt atty flavor instead by not having my carts topped off fully.

If you're using a 510 one thing you can do is use a paperclip or small diameter eyeglass screwdriver to pop the end of the mouthpiece off by inserting it in the hole along with popping the inner circle out in order to use a rolled up napkin to soak up the mess inside the cart. Plus popping off the end piece lets you know for sure if you're flooding the cart as there will be excess juice all inside.

What fixed my problem totally was to do the blue filter floss mod. I keep a fish tank and had that on hand and just trimmed off a small piece, rolled it up loosely, and inserted it into one of my carts to compare with another.

The cart with the old stuffing needs to be topped off every few hits and floods like nobody's business. The cart with the blue filter floss in it is easier to vape, hasn't flooded on me yet, plus doesn't have to be topped up anywhere near as often.

Remember, a flooded cart is wasted juice.
