That explains why Baditude has been missing lately, no wifi on the airplane!!
Nope. I haven't been online for the last few days because I don't have a home computer or home internet access. I'm retired, and go to the local library to use their computers and go online. Library has been closed for the holidays.

This tank just leaks whenever you put it upside down!
Don't do that. ;)

J/K. My first rebuildable tanks were Genesis-style, a design which leaked like a sieve when turned upside down or sideways. They weren't road or pocket-worthy, so they didn't see much use. They could only be used as a table top setup at home.

Every new tank comes with a learning curve. Finding the sweet spot with wicking, coil type and diameter, and air flow takes a while. YouTube is definitely your friend for seeing how others build it and handle various issues.
As if all tanks worked exactly the same
This!! That is specifically why I don't use rebuildable tank atomizers any more. I'd rather not be bothered with the learning curve involved. RTA's are the least forgiving for wicking "errors" and require a lot of trial and error. IMHO.

@PatVapes By the way, Happy Belated Birthday and Christmas. My ex's birthday is the day after Christmas, hense her name being Noel.

The Zeus will leak upside down, no o-ring problem.

Really? I never knew that.

Pat, merry post Christmas, and sorry to hear about the breakup, but S you said, some things are just meant to turn out differently than we thought. Just ask any of my ex wives.

I had no idea the Zeus could dump if upside down. All the top air tanks I use, Engine v1 and 2, Intake, even the Dead Rabbit RTA won't leak upside down from the airflow, or from the drip tip unless flooded.

Really, a flooded deck is just too little cotton. I've done it even after lots and lots of rebuilds when I thinned the tails too much and was too lazy to fix because I thought I could get away with it.

I have one protection if I over stuff the juice holes. I vape pretty much only in temp control so rather than getting a dry hit, a truly awful experience, I just get a weak vape because the mod won't fire up with a dryish wick. That's a hint to lighten up. I've dealt with that mostly when I've been ...... off I flooded the deck by thinning the tails too much and am too impatient to pay attention and do it right.

The only lessons from that overly lengthy story is it'll leak if you have too little cotton and not wick enough, and if you overstuff the juice holes with cotton it won't wick and you'll end up with a lousy vape potentially leading to dry hits.

You need to find the Goldilock zone of just right. Do it several more times and it gets easier. But it can happen to anyone even if you wick tanks a lot.

Why does the Zeus leak if you flip it over (general question not you Pat)? Then what's the point of it being top air?

My ex who? Already chatting with another guy 8)

So, I went to my favorite vape shop. And I did something I shouldn’t have...

Added grape jam monster to my collection lol.

Anyway I asked the guy if it’s normal that my tank is leaking, you know, just in case, to hear what he’s got to say. And he said that it isn’t normal and to bring my vape to him soon.

I guess I should do that :x

GeekVape Zeus Leaking?!

Mine's always leaked, it's the airflow ring that doesn't seat properly. I don't use it anymore, but when I did I just never left it on its side. Btw, I only stopped using it because I squonk 100% of the time now, not because it was bad.

lol! Well it is done :p I am happy with it... although... I might get an rda... should I? To be or not to be?

Life is so hard
Most RDA'S will be a different vape for you, most have the drip tip close to the coil, so you want to practice building on your RTA because spitback on an RDA is a much more unpleasant experience, lol. I don't use RTA'S much anymore, just RDA'S. The thing that got me exclusively squonking was that I got tired of dripping after X amount of puffs. If you do get an RDA make sure you buy one with a squonk pin, most newer ones come with one. That way if you decide you want to get a squonk mod, you'll just need to swap out the pin

That thread is about the Zeus single coil and seems the OP rectified the issue with proper wicking.

The airflow ring has nothing to do with creating any kind of seal. Remove it and nothing happens with the exception of no air flow control.

The top assembly is a single press fitted piece – there is nothing to unseat. If it is damaged, or a defect in manufacturing then I could understand leaking – the later should grant a warranty claim. Outside of that, leaking through the airflow is due to improper wicking.

Airflow ring removed, tank filled with juice and on it’s side…..no leaking! It’s bone dry in the air chamber

That’s the thing that made me not get an rda. Hmmm, the only reason I want an rda is because the guy at the store gave me his today and the flavor was so good. But then again... maybe I’m just not getting amazing flavor because I suck at wicking lol

I just put it upside down and it’s all good. Seems like I had been doing something wrong (probably bad wicking) :)

I love when everybody posts what they think. I would’ve been scared to put it upside down again if it wasn’t for your post

I don't know the Zeus well and top airflow should help but any time you open a top fill, be quick to get the cap back on and don't move it around more than you have to. The vacuum is a big part of preventing flooding, especially if you've wicked a little looser than intended.

The last RTA I ran was the Amit 25 with a single flat alien wave and it did the job well. Having juice flow control though really helped for clearing flooding and preventing leaks when required.

Squonking is definitely the best of both worlds though. The mods I have hold 8ml and 12ml and neither are as unwieldy nor as cumbersome as dealing with a tank. You can get your jam on (so to speak) with a bonza/the drop/dead rabbit RDA and when you've got your routine down (wick and wire), buy a squonk mod, swap out your pin and you'll never look back ;) ... If you only juice when you vape it'll never leak, though you may need to give it a wipe now and then like any atty. It's overall a lot less hassle.

Just my thoughts, take it as seriously as you would any advice from a stranger on the internet ;)

Thank you! I’ll definitely look into other options when the right time comes :) right now I want to feel comfortable with my RTA and I’m getting there little by little :)

Here in Perú it’s kinda hard to get the good stuff easily and/or for a reasonable price!

Another thing that can happen is, if you want to refill before the tank is empty, you open the top, lose vacuum while filling, and it can flood the deck.
The wicking should stop it from happening, but not always...
Yeah, this. Exactly what I was getting at but much more important in this example!

I agree with your train of thought, just mentioning the rest cause squonking and RDAs were brought up earlier in the discussion.

From everything I've heard of the Zeus dual, you should definitely be able to get what you want out of it, good luck! :D
