I'm only half way through the thread (I like stories), but I wanted to post this before I forgot. I thought the QE was a limited edition made only for those on the list, but when I went to the site to look at attys I saw this:

Gus telescopic Kiss QE edition matte [A00-7Q110] - €130.00 : Gus-mod&more...!, An idea made material

If the matter has been addressed in a later part of the thread I haven't gotten to yet, just ignore my post.

Hi, only 50 units of the Kiss-QE were made. 49 went on the list and 3 never paid up, thus there were 4 units left. These four are being sold at the site as per their payment deadlines. Further details here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-kiss-qe-telescopic-mod-gus.html#post13093101

Did you look at the link? There's a brass middle band in that one. Doesn't matter, I'm just curious, being that I've been reading the story of it's creation. I have adopted Vwls "Angel," who is winging her way to me.

ETA: Never mind. I misread your post.

Congrats on your new acquisition, Ocelot.

It occurred to me that some people not paying might be the issue. There are only two units listed as available, so perhaps he has sold a couple.

It's a lovely project you put together qorax! Bravo! I shall soon appreciate it much more when Angel is in my hot little paws :) I have made branching out the milestones of my journey: 6 months tobacco-free ProVari; 1 year - bottom-feeders; 18 months - Woodvils/started building; 2 years - tube mechanicals. My first was a bOd Mecha. I prefer devices that are a little bit different.

I had initially planned on a Poldiac, until I discovered MMVapors has been charging VAT on exports to the US. In an effort to help a friend get the tax refunded we both emailed the company and were sent a bunch of BS reasons why they were charging it (when none of the other Greek vendors do), despite my sending their rep. quotes and links to the EU commission export tax policy. She finally said they would refund his money, but he has yet to see it and she insinuated in was a special situation. Supposedly, they are "checking with their lawyers" about the VAT charges, but there is no indication at this time they will stop charging it. VAT in Greece is 23%(!) which is outrageous to pay on top of an already pricy mod.

There are many others in EU who don't discount that VAT for us, for folks this side of the pond. JM, MarkBugs, Atmistique, GR-Modders etc. I have always paid them the same price as listed on their webstore. But yes, it's nice to see that some do.

Ps.: Not to mention the atrocious 'shipping charges' some of our US vendors do likewise to folks the other side :( Here's what I get charged being in Canada for e.g. ProVape = $38, LokiLabs = $26, Volcano eCigs = $40. Say whaaaat ???

Hey Qorax, i saw on GUS facebook some pics that suggest there may be a glass tank coming for the Estia, you know anything about that?

I have been trying to get them organize a PMMA one for long (for the Estia and the Aiolos-T). I've also send him all the links, including those of the manufacturers and resellers in the EU.

I thus, know that they are trying. It'd soon be made, probably both - in PMMA as well as Quartz. Personally I prefer PMMA tho (for it's longevity).

Valued Added Tax is paid on merchandise sold within countries that are part of the European Union. It is not to be charged on exports to non-EU countries; plus, when merchandise is exported to a non-EU country the seller can deduct the VAT they have been charged on materials used to manufacture the merchandise.

EUROPA - Cross-border VAT: buying & selling inside and out of the EU - Your Europe

"Special rules apply if you buy or sell goods/services from or to other countries."

"If you sell goods to customers outside the EU, you do not charge VAT, though you may still deduct the VAT you yourself have paid on your related expenses (goods/services bought in specifically to make those sales)."

GR-modders doesn't charge VAT to non-EU member countries. The VAT isn't included in the listed price, it's added at checkout if it applies. So far the only one that I've seen that does charge is MMVapors & I'm working to get them to correct their policies. Unfortunately it appears that the majority of Greece shuts down for the month of August, so I'm in limbo waiting on their lawyer.

Buyers in USA do not pay VAT - I know of another vendor in UK that charges VAT to USA customers and thats why I dont buy from there.

As much as I love certain devices - if they started charging VAT I wouldnt buy anymore - Its the principle of the thing

That's the problem we're having with MMV. It sucks because they do make some fantastic products. I don't want to get into MMV-specific talk in Q's thread, but go check out that link that Ocey posted a few posts back & see what their argument is... & how many holes are in it.

Back on topic, sorta... I wonder if this Greek-August thing is affecting GUS as well, in regards to not having the correct tools. Perhaps they can't get them because their supplier is on vacation as well. It seems like the majority of the country just closes down for the month. The official holiday was on the 15th, but a ton of people over there were on vacation well before that & still are.

I will say this in regard to VAT in general within the EU (not about specific companies). There is no profit made when this is charged to a non EU buyer as the tax is paid to revenue authorities in that country.

Revenue laws & legislation in general are exceedingly stringent in the EU and you are guilty until proven otherwise in the eyes of authorities. This is a long drawn out and expensive situation to be in, even if you have done no wrong.

Please do not think that a seller in the EU is profiting in any way from this, but if you can assist them in understanding the rules, it can only be a good thing for vapers outside of the EU:)

I know exactly how the VAT system works. They shouldn't be paying it either. I just don't want to be paying an extra 23% to the EU that I nor they are responsible for. Just on my 2 purchases with them, that 23% added up to over 50 euros. It's not making the difference between me buying a Ferrari or not, but it's not exactly chump change either.

You are indeed correct and I did not mean the post to sound contradictory to your earlier posting. I also would not wish to pay an extra % in unnecessary costs, to the revenue system of any EU country, if I was in your position.

The point I was trying to convey to anyone reading this, is that any EU manufacturer charging VAT on non EU sales, is not doing so for extra profit as the only winner is the tax man.
