I've seen links to articles and videos with titles like "How to vape" and I've chuckled to myself. I mean, you just press the button (if you're using a manual battery), put the vaporizer to your lips and take a drag like you're smoking a cigarette. Right? Well, that's what I thought until a few moments ago. I don't know what made me do it differently this time - I was just sitting here, half-watching TV, half-looking at the computer, not really thinking about what I was doing - and I took a long, slow, easy sip, just kinda drawing the vapor into my mouth (instead of sucking it in like I was drinking a milkshake through a straw), THEN I tipped the vaporizer away from my lips and inhaled and... Boom! There it was! More flavor, more vapor, more pleasure!

Whattaya know? The people who said you gotta use a different technique weren't {MODERATED} after all.

Fellow newbs, take note.

I was lucky, I guess... I grew up as the youngest of 5 kids. I was used to learning from the mistakes of other people :) I did a LOT of reading and paid attention when they said:
"when smoking, taking a hard, powerful draw gets more smoke and flavor. When vaping, taking a gentle, long draw into the mouth gives more vapor and much more flavor than smoking ever did."

My technique is kinda like trying to get a 1/2 lit analog going...triple tap it...like instead of long slow draw every time...hit it in puffs...puff, puff, draw...

(I have noticed my bottom feed carto last MUCH longer and doesn't get the nasty burnt taste in it anymore either...

Yes, exactly. I guess I just needed to find that out for myself.

I know exactly what you mean. Actually, that's kinda like smoking a cigar,.

Just my opinion but I would guess the burnt taste has nothing to do with your inhalation technique, but everything to do with the fact that you are using a top wicked/top coiled clearomizer (the iclear 30). I've never had good luck with those, no matter the brand. You have to constantly tilt and spin your device to keep the wicks wet. I would suggest a bottom wick/bottom coil glassomizer instead. Davide and Protank make them in both full size and minis. No tilting, turning, tapping or any other motion needed - just keep the tank over the 1/3 fill mark, and you're gold. (Hint - Davide costs less and there's no difference in quality whatsoever.)
