Yes they taste terrible when you haven't had one in awhile but be careful it only takes a couple smokes to get "used" to it again and back to normal. I quit smoking for a year and all it took was 2 or 3 cigarette... This was before I knew what vaping was though

I backslid...

I had just spent 9 days under the hospitality of the county and I caved. (judge as you like for either or both) Smoked maybe 4 over 2 days. They are gross! I

ll have to reset my banner.. But at least i'm still a non smoker. As long as we go back to something non tobacco it can help make us stronger in our resolve.

Via spontaneous binary code
My son had roomed and boarded with the county numerous times. Each time, he would immediately start smoking just to get the buzz. The last time, they had recently employed a nurse who vapes and likes to spread the word. I asked him if he wanted to vape when he gets out. He said yes, so I invested in a kit for him, not just my castoff cigalikes. He had a few just getting out. I quickly sent him to his father, and he has bought more equipment since then. I talked with my daughter who had recently visited, and he tried to turn her on to vaping, but she wasn't ready.

He is doing well in a different social environment, and has recently been working!! :2cool:

So, Ive been vaping exclusively.... for 23 days, or thereabouts.
and I Rationalized having a cigarette. I wanted to see how disgusting it was now.
It smelled bad, and tasted bad. And then I thought... WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING!! And I put it out... after like... 5 or 6 unsatisfying puffs... but now i feel like i am back at square 1..... I just smoked. All the blood vessels are contaminated with C02 and... it seems like its a little harder to breathe (Might just be in my head though). I feel like I just let myself down... And I just took like... 2 minutes off my life expectancy.... Now I just feel really bad.... ...........I crushed the rest.
But I guess on the plus side, GOODNESS was that ever DISGUSTING!

Never never ever beat yourself down for gathering more information about your journey into this new chapter in your life.

You are NOT back at square one - this experience in my opinion is a step forward in your journey.

And with that knowledge you can now proceed with even more confidence that you are doing a GREAT THING

Continue to celebrate each and every cigarette you avoid and vape-on!

I did the same thing for a few months after I started vaping. Now, over a year later, I'm finally done with cigarettes. In fact, I found a pack of smokes in my motorcycle saddle bag a couple of weeks ago and promptly threw them in the trash and wasn't bothered one bit knowing that I didn't have a cigarette at my disposal. Don't give up...it has happened to most of us along the way. After trashing the cigarettes that I found I realized that this is the FIRST TIME in 50 years or so that I haven't had a cigarette anywhere in my house and I felt damn good about it!! Believe me...if I can do it then you can too!!!!!

Thanks guys. Man did I feel like I failed after that. I felt like I cheated. Was all guilty.... so what's the deal now? I gotta reset the quit banner?

Given the way the banner is written, you'd have to reset it. But so what, the reality that banner doesn't convey is that in 25 days, you've had a half a cigarette, and so 452 and a half have been avoided. Actual goal, as far as I can tell, is to avoid them. "Smoke free" is window dressing.

I have had a couple cigs in the last month, I still have a pack that I carry around...but none in three weeks - I didn't reset my counter for the "puff and throw out" I did two weeks ago - LOL!! I decided in the beginning of this to NOT beat myself up like I have every time I tried before and this is the most successful I have ever been.....the smell actually bugged me more than the burnt taste...you just did an experiment....no harm no foul :D
