I've never done any modding. I am familiar with wicking, however.
I'm a poi performer, a fire dancer and a pyrotechnician. I use kevlar cloth to make custom wicks that absorb well, stand up to almost any abuse and it distributes fuel very evenly. I would imagine it would do the same for ejuice. The reason I use kevlar is because when you add fuel and set it on fire, the fuel burns but not the kevlar. It is very absorbent and can hold a lot of fuel.
Could kevlar cloth replace the the blue plug or polyfill for carts? Cut to size it would be effective "wicking" that would be easy to clean and cheap and reusable. A square foot would probably last someone a lifetime. It would be far more durable exposed to high heat than anything that is currently being used. Nomex/kevlar blends are softer and even more heat resistant.
I'm guessing that the vapor would probably not be as hot because the kevlar would insulate against the heat of the atomizer. It might be a cooler vape, temperature wise.
A cartomizer made with kevlar and dedicated to a single flavor could last a long time, I think.
Anyway, I'm pulling out kevlar cloth and getting ready to make a mod
Can anyone think of a reason this would be a bad idea to try that I haven't thought of?
