Haven't had an analog for over 48 hrs now.
Tonight I puffed on my 510 and started noticing it had a smoky flavor.
Not like the atomizer was burnt, but like liquid smoke was added.

Up to this point the only thing I could describe my e-fluid as was kinda carmel/nutty/sweet

Imagine that.........tobacco flavor tastes like smoke..........who'da thunk ?

Yeah.. happens to a lot of us..
I started on a screwdriver model that I ordered from TW. It cam with a 10ml bottle of TW original tobacco and I also ordered TW watermelon with that purchase.I thought they both tasted like cardboard from the getgo... but was determined to stay on the e-cig .. so I just kinda tuffed my way through it.
I ordered some other juice and was pleased.. but I still had quite a bit of the TW juice left... After a month I decided that I was not going to let the TW juice go to waste and go ahead and vape through it .... Then, get back to the juice I liked. I vaped on the TW original tobacco and low and behold.... This is actually my go to tobacco juice. I can truly taste the flavoring in it now and it is darn good. The watermelon still taste lacking but It does taste like watermelon... only very faint.
So, yes I would agree that it is funny how the sense of taste is so affected .. just wait til the sense of smell comes full turn, then you will really be surprised.

I've had the same problem. I've always been a menthol smoker, so thank goodness I'm enjoying the Double Mint, Eco Pure Menthol and the menthol carts. I thought I was doing something wrong because I can't really taste the "non-ciggie" flavors I got with my starter kit.
I just completed day 2 (first day completely analog free - yay) so I am hoping as I regain the ability to actually discern flavors again, I'll enjoy the cappuccino (love, love the smell but can't really taste it) - as well as diving in to other flavors.

How long does it take for our taste buds to start regenerating?

I've been vaping for about a week, but the only thing I've noticed change regarding my senses....is that cigarette smoke (surprisingly....well surprisingly to meanyhow) smells awful. Everything else seems about where its been for the last ten years or so.

I'm not worried about tastes/smells though.

I'm far more concerned with my lung capacity coming back.

For all I care, my taste-buds can stay as they are forever...so long as I can breathe easier.

Would be nice to have my taste/smell back to normal though. :)

I think that at times regaining senses has actually been a bit uncomfortable. For instance, we noticed that the food we cook was actually always over seasoned so we could taste it, that being said ecigs have actually lowered our salt intake, funny huh. I also cannot stand to go into a smokers house or car anymore, it's freaking horrible. If you don't think you are regaining senses wait about a week and taste a cigarette. You'll see.

lol....Right after I made my post about how I hadn't really noticed anything.

I cooked myself some food...and had EXACTLY that problem. Wasn't "bad", but definitely very powerfully-seasoned.

After I quit about a week, I couldn't stand salt! It leveled out after about a month, but I use way less than I did before.

Amazing the sense of smell that has returned. Now I know for sure the neighbors are smoking something illegal once in a while in their back yard. Previously all I ever smelled was my cigarette.

I think you will find that the reset time will vary with the person. Having smoked over 40yrs, only the strongest flavors come through for me. I get no taste :(from the majority of e-juices.
Smell on the other hand, came back rather quickly.:) I never knew how bad the world smelled. Must have changed the cats diet cause the cat box never smelled that bad before. Ash trays and smoker areas are becoming disgusting. Walking through malls is an experience. Really like walking through the fragrant candle aisles. Hmmm, might even be able to smell the flowers this spring.:w00t:

 I read the comment about how bad the world smells and it made me laugh - I actually snorted. I've been smoking almost as long as you have (I started smoking when I was 12, there - I admitted it). I've always had what I believed to be an overly-acute sense of smell.

Interesting though, when I get honest and think about it, - the horrible smells that occasionally invade my senses have always been limited to being described as:
a) raw sewage
b) wet dog
c) swamp @$$ <--- ?? Seriously? I've actually described things that way - "Geez, it smells like swamp @$$ around here!!" As if I, or anyone else for that matter would ever have the instant ability or knowledge of what that really is or even smells like? The reality is, I've only been able to discern that I smell something vaguely unpleasant, and 9 times out of 10, I am the only one! Everyone else will wrinkle up their noses, concentrate on the air for a second, give a slight eyebrow raise.... and say, "Oh, Remie's Phantom @$$ has returned", or "Watch out, Remie's phantom Wet Dog is loose again!".

So, it is perfectly normal, especially right now for me not to taste the "deliciousness" in the flavored e-juices. Some of them really smell "good". As far as flavor, the only thing that matters to me right now is mint/menthol, the stronger the better. It's probably because I can't taste anything else!

I am waiting to start noticing smoke on other people and in their cars. It was never an issue for me. I managed to quit during my pregnancies and during the random surgeries, hospital stays, had almost a year quit when I tried Chantix... but -I was raised by a smoker, so maybe it's just a familiar smell  I hope the smell starts to disgust me, honestly! I do not want to smoke cigarettes, not now, not nevah! I want my body cleansed, healed, and healthy.

As for salt - wow - I've spent a lifetime adding a little food to my salt! You guys are now telling me I'll taste food? Thank goodness I've always had low blood pressure so salt hasn't been an issue.

So, in conclusion  Being a lifelong die-hard smoker, it may take my senses longer to regenerate, but I can expect some rapid changes.
Maybe the Phantom Wet Dog will finally go away for good.
