Probably would have better luck with this in the Halo forum, but this is my first post, so it has to go here.

I bought a 30ml bottle of Halo HX3 at my local shop. When I got it home, I noticed that the Best By date is 7-25-14 - just over a month after I bought it.

Most of the other vendors' liquids I have have dates of a year or more in the future, and it is my understanding that Halo uses a shorter "best by" window, but I want to know how concerned I need to be. It is my first tobacco flavor, and I don't anticipate that I will use it very often, but wanted to have a good tobacco flavor in the cabinet, just in case.

I called the store when I got home and they checked the rest of their Halo inventory and said that it has similar dates, and that they turn it over pretty quickly, so they're not sure why the date is coming up so fast.

I'm guessing that if I use the entire bottle, it will take me several months to do so. Should I press a return with the shop, or stop worrying about it?

The last Halo juice that I bought was directly from their website. I purchased it on 3-25-14 and the "best by" date is 7-5-15. The B&M seems to have issues with their stocking. With that said, the juice itself should be fine for a while, as Halo does a great job of sealing their bottles when filling, and the blue cobalt glass bottles do a great job of minimizing exposure to light. Unless the B&M stored the juice next to a furnace for an extended period of time, the juice should be vapable for quite some time.

Thanks.

To be honest, I don't think that I like tobacco flavors very much at all. I've found that the flavors I like in vapor form are not at all what I would have expected. The wife and I are both enjoying fruit flavors toned down with vanilla/crème, and my favorite so far is the mint chocolate from Namber - didn't see that coming at all.

I assumed I would like tobacco flavor the most and found it to not be the case. The HX3 was the first one I tried that I actually liked something about (damp, earthy, spring-turkey forest floor??), and I wanted to have a tobacco flavor in the cabinet. I was struggling with dropping the first morning cigarette and thought tobacco-flavor might be the answer. I've since figured out how to eliminate that hardest-of-all cigarettes, but still want to have a bottle of quality tobacco juice to experiment with.

My concern with the date was that the wife and I went crazy getting different juices (we found changing flavors frequently kept it interesting and helped us off cigarettes) and we currently have around 300 ml of various premium brand juices so I'm not sure how fast we'll use that bottle of HX3.

If I returned it to the store, I would want another bottle of the same. I was just worried that it would be no good if it took us a couple months to work through that bottle.

I recommend having this thread moved to the Halo area. They have a rep over there that is good about answering questions, the best we can do is give you an opinionated guess. It should be fine, as most people find that steeping a liquid for a few weeks to months brings out the best flavor. I know how well steeped my liquids are "usually" by the color of the liquid, but a lot of commercially available liquids are already pre-steeped. I don't think you're in any danger, so there's no worry about that. Over time though the flavor will change so only you will know if it's better or worse to your liking. Also over time the nicotine may become less potent. Hope that helps!
