I would like to preface this review with the statement that I am very new to vaping, and I am definitely a part of the market targeted by Halo/V2/Volt/Blu, etc. I only want a mini that feels like a cig in my hand and can get me through the day (smoked about a half pack a day previously). A KR808 model is perfect for my needs. Also, I have paid for everything reviewed below, so my review is not influenced by free product.
I started off with Blu disposables from Walgreen's and immediately knew that I needed to get my own kit, so I ordered the starter kit from V2 (not Halo, much to my regret). I chose expedited shipping when I ordered last Monday, expecting to receive my kit on Friday in time for my Memorial Day weekend at The Lake. V2 did not fulfill my order until Wednesday, and my package arrived on Saturday. Fortunately, someone was able to bring it to me at The Lake on Sunday, and I was able to vape for a little while. I was not overly impressed with either the batteries or cartos that I received from V2, and after paying $70 (after 20% off), I decided to return the kit. I had already made this decision after ordering the G6 starter kit from Halo on the same Wednesday I found out about the delayed shipping. The limited battery/carto lives in addition to the "meh" menthol flavor and fecal-flavored "Congress" cartos sealed the deal on that.
On to the review: Halo absolutely blows V2 away. Customer service is top notch; my emails were answered courteously and quickly last week when I ordered. I placed 2 separate orders (1 for the juice sampler, 1 for the kit), and both were shipped within 2 hours of ordering. Aside from the phenomenal customer service, the vaping experience with the G6 is far superior to that of the V2: thicker vapor, easier drags and far superior taste. I have vaped the Tiki Juice and Malibu Menthol and have already decided that I will be ordering 30 mL bottles of both. I am immensely pleased with this product and have decided that Halo is going to be my go-to supplier for batteries and cartos. I may shop around for some additional juice samples, but I have easily identified the Malibu Menthol and Tiki Juice as permanent all-day vapes.
I'm certainly hoping that the batteries live up to the potential that I assume from the laborious charging process, and this is my only real gripe about the matter: the first charge is something of a pain. The battery must be charged for 8 hours on the wall charger initially, then used for 20 minutes, then charged again for 1 hour. After that, you only need to charge the batteries for 2 hours. I will post a follow up comment after a few days of judging the batteries' performance.
I love the finish on these batteries, by the way. Kind of a rubberized/matte feel and look to the metal. Very elegant. However, Halo has one of- if not THE- coolest logo in the eCig market...why isn't Fireball Face present on the battery rather than the G6 logo?
All in all, great job, Halo. I look forward to being a loyal customer for years to come. I really hope you guys are successful in your pursuit of retail distribution, particularly here in Birmingham, AL. Keep up the good work!
