Hey everyone. I'm still relatively new to this and I need some expertise here.

I vape Tribeca and Voodoo all day everyday. These are my all day vapes.

I know it's probably something I'm doing wrong but here it goes; my juices are darkening in color and changing flavor about every two days. I rinse the tanks and drip tips out with hot water and then blow dry them with my air compressor. After that, I put In a new coil, add new juice, and then let them sit and wick up for about 5 minutes.

I just want to get more out of my juice and coils so I don't have to do this every other day. There's obviously something I'm doing wrong. Hopefully someone can help me with this.

Btw, I'm using 2 Halo vv batteries, and Triton Tanks.

Juices darken up when the coil has gunk build up, causing the juice to leech back into the tank with the darker color.

I swap my coils out after 5 refills, just because the performance and taste isn't there, because of the gunk buildup. Voodoo is notorious for gunking up coils faster than usual.

I'd suggest getting an extra pack of coils, and adding them to your rotation of coils. I use 7 tanks and about 20 coils, and I go about one month before I have to rinse out all of my coils and tanks.

I also find that juices will darken due to the fact its being heated a lot. I also have ADV rotations of light juices that are not gunkers like Fusion and Prime but heating the juices over time will darken them.

Also, VOODOO is one of my all time favs and it does change taste a lot..its crazy like that and why I love it so much. It keeps me guessing and I find the flavor different even in a day (morning versus night). I tend to turn down the volts in the morning and crank it at night plus taste buds, at least for me, always change as well during the day.

Voodoo and Tribeca are both thicker liquids that tend to gunk up coils. The good folks here have advised that you get best results by doing just one tank refill of Voodoo, then clean the tank. A little darkening seems to be normal. Darkening and flavor change toward burnt usually means it's time to clean. Your ADVs happen to be two that need more frequent cleaning. It depends on how much you vape, refill, and on what settings on your VVs.

You didn't mention whether you clean the coils and wicks, or just replace them. I just had my first successful Triton tank cleaning yesterday, and it was my Voodoo tank. I followed instructions found in this sub-forum, and watched some YouTube instructions. The wicks cleaned up well, and vaping Voodoo in the tank today is back to deliciousness!

I don't use a VV (yet), but I do see others mention that some liquids perform better with higher resistance. I know Belgian is like that, and that's a thick liquid. So it's possible that you are vaping them too hot. If the darkening and flavor change happen right away, on the first refill after cleaning, that's a possible cause.

I just spoke with A Halo rep on-line and he told me that I don't need to keep my tank full and not to take more than 2 second drags. Does that sound correct to you?

I kept the tank full (before learning I shouldn't with Voodoo) and went a week before needing to clean. And I often take looong drags - 4 - 5 seconds. But on a hotter, lower resistance setting, makes sense that it should be shorter.

It's true that you don't *need* to keep the tank full, but I'm not clear on the purpose of that statement. I vape off my Triton until it's almost bone dry, and it's never a problem.

I routinely take drags longer than two seconds. The Triton has a 10 second limiter, so you can't exceed that. I rarely ever hit 10 seconds. Shorter drags may help reduce gunk buildup, but might affect flavor also. I'd rather vape how I prefer, and deal with the maintenance as needed.

Thank you BigBen! The way I have been doing it has given me my fix. I'll replace coils every day if I have to. A $2.50 coil is much cheaper than two packs of cigarettes at $6 per pack. I'll take that savings all day long. Besides, i make good money and my wife gave me the green light to spend however much I want on vape products. As long as I don't go back to analogs. Which I never will.

I do think you can get a bit more mileage out of your coils. (vaporage? lol)

Like rinse the coil and wicks clean from the Tribeca tank, then use it in the voodoo tank.

My Belgian Cocoa always starts with a new coil. For some reason, other flavors can mask old flavors in the wicks or coils, but I just haven't found that with Belgian.

(Buy the wife something nice. Support like that is invaluable, my friend!):)

Good for you.

I still take the time to rinse out these coils, and re-use them as much as possible. I've replaced the top wick on several occasions as well.

FYI, the coils are "Kanger T2" coils, so you can look for a cheaper source (as low as $1 each), although they will most likely have short wicks. I simply replace the top wick with a longer piece of 2mm ekowool (bought by the foot), and I'm very happy with that simple setup.

That is interesting advice lol.. Does anyone actually take only 2 second drags? Especially if you are not using a RBA type setup?

Agreed...kinda odd advice for sure. I do know my Prime/Fusion mix will start to taste slightly burned if the tank is half way or lower so I either lower the VV or top it off more. I never thought to do a shorter draw but don't think I'd want to anyway.

I'm getting my "hit" at 5 seconds on 3.8 volts. I had been going 7-8 seconds and now see I can get it at 5. Two seconds is absurd. It's like blowing nothing but cold air. I'll see if the coil and wicks can handle a couple of days with 5 second intervals.

That sounds more "normal"! 2 seconds I would get any vape I feel. Ok just tried it and I do but not very satisfying for me.

What ohm coils are you using?

3.0-3.2 ohms is recommended for the VV, they do seem to open up the range a bit.

I use high resistance coils all around as I prefer a cooler vape. They also help negate over cooking the ejuice which extends the life of the coil and helps ward off premature nasty dark jooze.

I'm using the 3.0 - 3.2 ohm coils.
