I am a huge fan of Backwoods Brew Applewood, and I usually have some in my small stash. The combination of apple and tobacco is a huge hit for me, but I don't use it daily. My daily vape is usually Ryder or Wyatt Earp from FSUSA, but due to their recent credit card processing issues, I have been unable to order from them for almost a month now. My search began again for a vape that keeps me interested, satisfied, and my Dual-coil Cartos (on my 5v mods) clean and not burning or clogging, which is tricky at 5v.
I have seen a few reviews about Halo e-liquid, but I never bothered to try, mostly due to the price. $20 before shipping for a 30mL bottle seems a little much for liquid, since most other places have liquid for at least $5 less per bottle.
They shipped fast, and it arrived on time. I lucked out, it being the holiday season.
Flavor
Upon opening the bottle, the smell of a solid tobacco and an almost floral Apple hit me, and I've never experienced that combination in e-liquid before. Smells great.
The flavor is confusing at first, as the combination is a little backwards from what I was expecting. The primary flavor is a tart, real-apple flavor, with a hint of floral notes. Underneath that Apple is a solid but smooth Tobacco. I'm used to tobacco being in the foreground and the apple being almost hidden. Nope, this one presents a tasty apple with just enough Tobacco to qualify it for a tobacco vape.
Vapor
The vapor production is great, but then again, just about all of the liquids I have will be thick and voluminous with my mod. 5v plus DC Carto will make any liquid perform in the vapor department. I'd say it's a little bit better than BWB Applewood.
Throat Hit
The throat hit performance isn't as intense as my other favorite flavors, but it's enough of a hit to keep me satisfied. It's smooth with just enough hit.
Conclusion
Steep time will tell if the floral notes disappear, but that's not a deal-breaker, as it's faint enough for my taste buds to quickly forget. It's a great flavor, with great vapor and good throat hit. As the liquid "matures" over time, I'm confident that this liquid will be vaped more and more often. At $20 per bottle, I might not buy it as often as I'd like. If its on sale, I'll stock up. I would definitely buy it again.
