Halo starter kit questions

I just start vaping about a week ago and love it so far! Been smoke free for a week now! Yay! I started with the logic disposables they have at the gas station. But now I just got the halo g6 starter kit. I was wondering if charging the battery for 8 hours for first charge really matters? I also read that volt has the same batteries. Will volt batteries charge on a halo charger? And will volt carts work with halo? Halo doesn't have that many accessories and such. I was lookting at different carts/clearomizers. Thank!
