I just received my Halo Triton yesterday. I filled it with JC Domestic and it worked fine. When I went to refill the tank today, I'm starting to get some juice down in the connection between the battery and the tank. Anyone know what I did wrong and how to fix it? I've checked the tightness on the coil, but that seems to be fine.

Second question is that I've read that the 100% vg juices will burn out my coils quickly. I was going to order replacements. I know I saw a thread somewhere (here, i think) that discussed the optimum resistance for either 100% vg juice in general, or the JC red oak line in particular. Can someone help me find that thread or give me some ideas about which coils to order?

On a side note, this forum has been great for learning about my new replacement habit! Thanks!

A bit of condensation is normal.

If you're getting e-juice, remove the coil assembly from the tank (empty it out if necessary), and slide the plastic sleeve down a bit further (if you're not sure, just remove the sleeve completely, and try it).

Most of my new coils had this problem, but I've never had one leak since I take them apart for cleaning, and put them back together.

Lot's of places to buy T2 replacement heads...most are short wick but 1/2 the price of Halo...also I use any T2 on my Halo Triton batteries. A regular T2 doesn't screw all the way down (leaves 1/4 inch or so gap) but works just fine.

I don't use 100% vg so can't comment on that, but for my 70/30 (or so) juices, I use either 2.0 or 1.8 coils.

As for that drop of juice...well it happens sometimes...could be condensation or juice. Either way, blow it out and wipe it off and try again. If it persists, you may need to dry burn the coil on the next cleaning or replace the coil. It doesn't seem that 1 tank full would gunk up the coil, but some juices can do that.

I'm going to try this. I will be keeping my tritons as backups once my taste v3 arrives. I'll let you know how it goes.

Did you have it outside in heat? I had that problem in the past when i would leave it in the work truck.

This actually just happened again with a new tank I ordered. I'm going to try the rebuild and see if that helps.

I just tried this, and the plastic sleeves on my heads have a lip on the top that stop them from sliding down further. You didn't mean that I should be sliding it further away from the base, did you? I didn't try removing it. Won't that flood the coil if the tank goes past vertical?

EDIT:
Just to clarify, I haven't actually tried vaping it yet, its currently sitting and absorbing (I tried it with a replacement head). So I can't say whether it worked or not. But I had noticed that sleeve riding up when I opened up for refills and every time, I pushed it back down before refilling and the problem stuck around.
