Hey guys, this is my first post so excuse me if i dont have the lingo down yet.
I quit smoking and started vaping 3 days ago when I received my Halo VV, tank, coils, usb, and Gourmet sampler.
I have tried the victory e-cig cartos in the past but not enough TH so returned to smoking.
First thing I did was charge the battery fully because Im very familiar with batteries and dont know if its a nickel cadnium or nickel metal hydride and know they have an issue with capacity memory if not fully charged the first time. Lithiums dont have that problem.
Anyway.... full charge, worked fine first day, second day, seemed to drain quicker (ordered a second battery to alternate), third day woke up at 9am and took battery off charger and was dead by noon (3hrs).
voltage is at around 4v and coils are at the suggested 3-3.2ohms.... coil is not overly tightened as suggested either....
Anyone have any ideas or similar issues? Help please!

are you using the Halo Triton charger to charge it?

I only have the basic Triton 650 mAh and 1300 mAh batteries, which last about 6 and 12 hours respectively using the standard 2.2 ohm coils heads. I've had these batteries for close to 8 months without issue. I do not own the VV Triton, but they will drain faster at the higher voltages and a 3 ohm coil will need more power for a decent vape.

Once you have reached your 5 post minimum, please post in the Halo supplier sub-forum for user and Halo assistance. Halo

I've never had a Triton, so I'm no help.

But, Halo is fairly widely regarded for good customer service. Your first step should be contacting the company and explaining what's happening. They should either give you advice/a fix, or send you a replacement.

Good luck!
Customer service was nice enough when I called on not getting my free promo gift... was hoping I wouldnt need to call them again so soon and that it might be something else maybe you pros could teach a noob like me to fix

yup, ordered battery coils, usb and sampler

Are you using the wall charger as well?

It is never recommended to use just the USB charger, since that is reliant on a USB port such as a computer and you might not be getting adequate charge unless you use the wall charger with the Triton USB charger. I would never charge off a computer or car adapter. I've never had a charging problem with the USB/Wall charger combo.

I totally agree with this. Computer USB ports and car ports can have either too much or too little voltage; the battery chargers work best with a USB/wall adaptor like cell phones use.

Most if not all the batteries we use in the e-cig community are lithium ion batteries (Li-ion).

Hi, and good job keeping off the cigs! and welcome.

Now, specifically, you got the Triton charger, not the G6 charger. The Triton charger says Halo on it, the G6 says G6. They are not interchangeable. Which charger did you order?

And they are Lithium Ion batteries. I use the standard 2.2-2.4 coils that came with the tanks. I'm usually at 3.8v to 4.0v also, but mine lasts me at least 6 to 8 hours, maybe more. It's tough to say, cause a new vapor might be vaping like mad!!! If you have the original 2.2ohm coils, try them. They should give more bat life.

And I respectfully disagree with the wall charger. I know some USB devices require the extra voltage available from a AC wall adaptor, (like some VV passthroughs I've seen) but the requirements of the Halo charger is well withing a PC's output. Are you using a USB2 connection? It should deliver the 500mA needed by the charger. However, when in doubt, charge the bat in a wall charger. And the "needs charging" signal is like 15 quick flashes. Not to be confused with the 5 flashes from the "10 second cut off".

I only charge mine when they blink 15, not at the end of the day. I leave it charging until I get a blue light on the adaptor, and the Batt light is out. The circuitry in the charger and the Li-ion battery protects against any problems of overcharging.

Next, is the top of the battery clean? And you haven't flooded the "moat" between the threads and the center post? A tissue/napkin and a Drinking Straw will get this clean.

Are you vaping more than a tank? This is so hard to judge, as 2 people can vape for 3 hours, and one uses twice the bat and twice the juice as the other. But If you are under 1 tank, and the VV doesn't last, then Halo Customer Service needs your call.

Let us know how it all works out. And yes, you need 2 batteries. And yes, you probably need 2 usb charger adaptors. You don't want to have your vaping world shatter cause you left the adaptor at work, or misplaced it. And more tanks, and grab a few of the replacement Triton tank tops for a buck each.

And again, welcome!

Yes it is a Triton USB, Researched and read threads, instructions, watched videos etc for days before ordering and days before receiving Items so I know the g6 usb causes "irreversible damage"
"Li-ion battery protects against any problems of overcharging." as I knew but thanks for saying as some said different.
I am a new "Vaper" so I am going a lil mad on it (hard, long hits) but will probably find something with more TH than these Halo Gourmet flavors I got to compensate. Thought the VV would be enough.

Thought the 5 blink was the recharge notice? Got 10-15 today and was like ...? none of this is said on the Halo PDF I downloaded... just "multiple succession"?

THE BATTERY DOESNT EVEN LAST 1 HOUR NOW let alone 1 tank and as a new 1+ pack a day quitter I do go through more than 2.4ml (1 tank) per day...
Will clean out everything again but seems its just a rare defective battery.... Hope Halo rights this wrong.

Update... charges 10 min and solid blue usb light.... 10 min later blinking for recharge

I had the same problem with a Triton. Customer service had me send the battery back to them first and then sent me a new one within the week. But I live in Jersey so ymmv! They are a reputable company with outstanding products, give them a chance to make it right. You might want to grab a backup battery while you're at it. Just saying!

You can see the cut out signal easy. (And anyone with a non-Halo bat, try this also, and report back!)

Now everyone, unscrew the tank off the bat. Now hold the fire button down for ten seconds. It will then blink 5, then the light is off, no power, even though you are still holding the button. Safety! So you don't throw it in the laptop bag or your pocket, and accidentally fire it, it will only go 10 seconds. (Standard 650mAh Tritons blink 3 times)

Because in the interest of learning, I took something metal, and jumped the gap between the center post and the outer ring, causing a short. As soon as I hit the fire button, I get 4 blinks, then off. More protection!

The "I need charging" is like 15 blinks. And if you try again, another 15 blinks. Sometimes I forget, and try again after a while. I might get one hit, then blink 15.

I leave my VV on the charger a good half hour after I get the blue light on the adapter. With the VV, the fire button light goes out first, then a half hour later, the adaptor goes solid blue.

Monkey Puffer, I'd buy two VV, then send back your defective one, and they can refund you. Just a thought.
