Halo's bottles - love 'em or hate 'em?

So now that there's a Halo forum I thought I'd post my thoughts on this and hear what everybody else's opinions are.

The Halo bottles are definitely pretty cool looking. And the dark glass helps keep some light out of it. And once emply, they can be cleaned and reused for mixing where the dropper can be useful. That said, those are the only things I like about them.

I'd actually prefer plastic bottles with dripper tips myself. When opened, the chance of tipping over the bottle and spilling your Halo all over is too real. With a nosy cat, it's a miracle that this hasn't happened to me yet - but then I also minimize opening the bottle by periodically transferring some liquid into smaller plastic bottles. There's also the other potential issue of dropping and breaking the glass, but this hasn't happened to me either.

Then there's the fact that you can't tighten down the cap on the bottle too much, or it skips a thread and goes to loose again. And even when you get it "just-right" tight, the cap sits crooked due to the threads. This makes carrying around or shipping the bottle a bit nerve racking, since you're not sure if the cap is tight enough and if it will leak. Though I've both shipped & received unsealed Halo bottles in trades, and none have leaked.

Then there's the issue when sometimes (I think this is most prevalent with 24mg) the liquid is a little too thin for it not to drip freely out of the dropper without even squeezing the bulb - leading to errant drips of liquid if you're not fast enough. The problem here isn't the liquid though - I like the way it is - I guess it's just that the hole in the dropper needs to be a little smaller.

All that said, Halo is so good that it could come in any container and I'd still love it! It just kinda irks me that I know these bottles cost Halo more, and I'd actually prefer cheaper more utilitarian plastic ones. Then maybe they could pass the savings down to us with coupon codes/promotions, or maybe more juice and less bottle! ;)

I definitely prefer the bottles as they are.

When you first pull the dropper up out of the bottle drip a drop back into the bottle and that should eliminate any dripping on the way to your atty.

As someone pointed out in another thread you can avoid the "thread-skipping" when putting the top back on by setting it on and turning it backwards first until it sets down even and then tightening it.

And yes I too have spilled a couple bottles sitting here at home and knocking them over by accident. But I still prefer them this way. For out and about I just fill up a couple 3ml plastic bottles so that isn't an issue.

And I don't think you're going to drop one of these bottles and have it break, except maybe on concrete, unless you drop it pretty forcefully.

I like the glass bottles/dropper just fine.

I too transfer a daily supply to a smaller 3ml plastic dropper bottle (sometimes 6ml) for carrying about. It's easier to do that transfer with the glass dropper.

I did drop one (mostly empty thankfully) on a ceramic tile floor. The bottle itself did not break but the glass dropper within did. I was still able to get much of the remaining liquid out.

the bottles work well as a container for the liquid, but that's about all i've used it for. it's not practical for me to carry around. i usually put the liquid in a 3ml bottle. it's a little time consuming, though. the dropper top is a nice touch, but i find my droppers are drippy even without pressure on the pump. i'd prefer a stopper top to avoid spills with a little slot for the dropper.

I like the dk. blue bottles which are better than plastic for storage. I am transferring to a 7 ml. plastic bottle, which is better for carry, w/ removable drip tip.
Disaster struck here. I tend to tighten well & when I pulled a bottle the top was loose. Extremely unlikely that it was not tightened, more likely it was slightly overtightened, bumped & came loose as it was in the box which was knocked over. I checked & it was about half lost.

im not a big fan of the bottle myself , i would prefer something with a drip tip , and the bottle is very tiny , you guys need to just use gallon jugs with drip tips...

I can't get the mental image of a gallon bottle, with a turkey baster for a dropper out of my head...

Love the bottles, but would prefer to also have a standard cap for storage/shipping.
