am slowly setting up my new Yaesu FTM-100D today

My Reo and I are playing a little bit on the Radio. Been more vape than radio. I run a Kenwood ts 2000 into a full wave 80 meter loop at 30 ft. Tuned with the MFJ 969 300 ohm ladder line feed.

HF rig here is a Icom 706MK II, LDG IT-100 tuner feeding 2 G5RV ant placed at 90 degrees from each other

Is your ftm100 for FM or are you doing digital. I play a little APRS mobile. with a FTM 350r and GPS. Do not have any of the c4fm stuff. Do you do any 6 or 2 meter SSB.

FTM-100 is for both FM and digital, there are a couple of C4FM repeaters in my area thare are either 2m or 440.

the 706 does what little 6m i rarely try.

I am pretty anti repeater. To many Lids around here. I will do Simplex 2 Fm And SSB on 2 and 6. or Will when my new antenna gets here. Going to put up a 4 element quad for 6 and 10 element quad for 2 on the same Boom. I have a 160 watt Mirage for 2 and could do 300 miles with a 13 element beam SSB(When its open it's a Blast).

I got my tech ticket back in January. I have a Yaesu VX-6R in my vehicle with a cheapie Tram mag mount. I spend most of my time on the WIN System through a local repeater in Mesa. Mostly California folks, but you hear people from all over the world. Lots of fun.

I plan to go for general eventually. I listened on a scanner for about a year, then got my technician just to see if I was going to get into it. I'm currently studying for general at hamstudy dot org. I recently picked up a 2m-70cm J-pole to stick up on the house for home use, but I've been waiting for it to cool down here. Now that it has, I need to get off my keister and put it up.

Been running a J pole for local since 2009. Only Antenna I will keep for Local. At 50 ft I get around 50 miles

I run a 17ft tall TRAM dual band for 2m/70cm, and have been doing some studying off and on for EXTRA.

I have used my Extra privileges more for testing than on the radio. It's a nice place to go when all the QRM crap fills up 40 meters.

Am debating on taking the FTM 100 and a mag mount on my week end trip to MO with a rental car
