Hammond 1550A DNA40

Hey guys,

Is it hard to build a 1550A dna40 mod? are the parts easily obtainable? Is there someone here that could possibly build one for me?

Or would you say it's so easy that even an idiot like me can do it? All looks so complicated lol.

you need basic electronics experience with wiring, soldering, using a multimeter. Other shop tools a drill, files etc. That A box is pretty small you may want to do a G size box on the first go round for the extra room. Soldering and ability to use a multimeter are a must. You could do your first one in a hana style box from fasttech all the holes are drilled, I think it comes with wire and a 510 you will have to look.

As depressing as it sounds, I have none of these skills at all lol. I do like the idea of the hana clone as most of the frame work is already done but I really like the 1550A for a lil stealthy mod (if it even holds a VTC4/5).

I want to put a 60w raptor in a A box. Will have to stack two 18350's but it will work. I get 12 hours on a set of 18650's, so if I can get 6 hours out of the 350's ill be happy and not have to compromise power for size.

Yah that is pretty sweet I dont know anyone who wouldnt love that. Check over here at reddit, start a thread in this forum tell em what you want if your serious about it. There are approved modders on that forum who make mods for people who want em.

I like the firing button on that wood/1550A box, anyone knows what's the part number on mouser or digikey? Love to have them for my next build

I just made a deal for a dna 30 today. Looks like im gonna build one for myself, I may incorporate wood like the one in the video or make it all wood. will see when I compile all the parts.

Am I tripping, or is the DNA40 chip way smaller than the 20 or 30?

Its the same size as the 20/30, the box inner heights is 27.10mm (1.067") as for the chip 16.51mm (0.650") so fit just right in, I guess.

1590A is a bigger version of 1550A by the look of it.

Hey gummy bare he has a blog page where he goes over what he did on the case. It's really nice. I took what he wrote and used google translate, it helps a little on the process of making it.

There is even a print out of the DNA board that you could use to do the holes on the case. Being that he has a lathe and all the tools I imagine it will be harder for someone like me to do it, but I sure will try.
