Long story short I've been vaping on a sigelei Zmax V5 for a few months and after lots of research (confident I can build a mech mod but would rather play it safe) and moving on to RDAs (authentic Magma ...!) I've decided to upgrade to a high(ish) watt box mod.

I'm leaning towards a full-size hana modz V3 matte black, but there's a lot of conflicting information about them out there...

Most of the issues I've read about are with the clones, but I occasionally read about the same issues with authentics as well..such as:

-self-firing (Which can be very dangerous! I often carry my mod in my pocket so this worries me)
-random errors
-burnt wires
-inaccurate ohm/voltage readings
-flat out dying

There haven't been many other box mods that jump out at me so I'd really like to get this one...just not sure if it's the safest and most reliable, especially for the price. Anyway I'd appreciate anyone sharing your experiences with them and your thoughts here...am I just being paranoid?

Also ""Charge port must be free of any liquid or debris before plugging in the micro USB charge cord. Serious damage can occur if charge area is not free of debris.""

er..like what?

I don't have an original but got one of the first Cloupors that Kidney Puncher sold. It's been going solid for about three months now. Not a single glitch. Then I ordered one at about half the price of the KP Cloupor from FastTech. Not the same quality level but is also working flawlessly.

Really liking them and considering that my own quality control level would surpass any other, I ordered one ea. Hana style enclosure and a DNA 30 kits from FT and built my first with a result that I deem quite superior to the ready to use ones. I have built other two now so I'm the satisfied owner of no less than five Hana clones. All, mine and the two others, haven't given me the least trouble.

I can without false modesty state that the ones assembled by me are of much higher standard than the Chinese assembled ones. For starters, my soldering skills are quite good and I didn't use a single drop of hot glue, all was done with automotive grade epoxy and, in a couple of spots, cyanoacrylate. Much cleaner and durable. Ditto, all the wire was purchased from a local supplier and is gauge certified. Did color coding too. I mention this as you seem able to DIY. Go that route.

There's a Cloupor 30 owners thread here. You might want to go there for further reference.

PS, mine —save for the Cloupor– don't give Watt reading errors (the Cloupor sometimes drops or rises 0.1 during a vape session on a known value resistance. The others don't). Also, I charge them all through the case port. No probs there as well.
