Hana Modz V3 thoughts after 36 hours

I received my Hana Wednesday from Hyperion. Ordered it last Saturday. Mine arrived in great shape. None of the blemishes or crooked 510 connector issues a few have posted. Put a new Vapor Skinz wrap on, popped a Sony Vtc5 in it and started testing my kayfun's and clearos on it. Vtc5 went in just fine. All fired up and none were loose on the Hana. My Kafun's are all coiled between 1.2 and 1.8 ohms. I don't sub ohm.

So far I have been pretty impressed with the perfomance of the Hana. I like the way I can adjust the wattage of the device, the stealth mode and the ability to lock the wattage. Everything about it is very easy to learn and use. I took it with me yesterday on a train ride to NJ for the day and did some stealth vaping on the train and used it all day while out and about and still had plenty of battery when I got back home after being on the road for 12 hours. Plugged it in last night for a couple of hours to charge and using it again today. I rotate between it and my 2 Provari and sigelei 20w and so far am really happy with the Hana. Since it's new not sure how the long term performance will be but will post any issues I have.

How would you compare the vape quality to that of your Sigelei 20W when using it at the same wattage?

I love my Sigelei 20W. It's a very smooth, consistent, and robust vaping experience. Do you notice any difference in the end product (the vape itself) when you take out things like ergonomics/aesthetic/etc out of the equation?

In short, if you were blindfolded and had no way of knowing which MOD was being used, and I stuck a Kayfun on top of a Sigelei 20W set at X watts (up to 20 because that's as high as the Sigelei goes) in your mouth, then took the same Kayfun, put it on the Hana at the same wattage, would you be able to tell the difference? If so, what might that difference be?

I just did the comparison. Thanks for the suggestion. I used my KFL+ authentic on both. To be honest and I had to go back and forth a few times, I actually think that the draw is a little more open than with the Sigelei. Vapor and flavor seems the same but the draw is what I notice. It may be that the KFL+ may be sitting a smidge higher on the Hana or that the air flow slots on the Sigelei aren't allowing as much air in? I actually am preferring the Hana I think. I really like the Sigelei too and use it in rotation during the day. I don't run 20 watts right now on my KFL+.

Huh? Doesn't the KFL+ have the airhole on the side? Did you take out the air control screw on the bottom? That shouldn't affect the draw with different devices really.... I must be missing something?

If you're asking about the Hana I lucked out and was surfing the site last Friday. Had some minis too. They had 8 when I first looked and by the time I placed order it was down to 2 and 15 minutes later were off the site.

1) Go to HanaModz.com and look at the authorized resellers
2) Add authorized resellers to your facebook to get updates of incoming stock
3) Send emails to authorized resellers asking if they have any in stock. I've actually heard a couple people have success with this.

Huh? Doesn't the KFL+ have the airhole on the side? Did you take out the air control screw on the bottom? That shouldn't affect the draw with different devices really.... I must be missing something?

I've removed the air hole on all 6 of mine. Sitting flush on the ProVari with a 'beauty' ring the draw is noticeably more tight than without the ring. It also stops the whistling issues where it exists.

I don't recommend buying from these guys. I was on the April batch order. I didn't hear from them until the very end of April, and that was for them to tell me they didn't have a unit for me, and that I would have to wait until the June batch. So it only makes sense that people on the June batch are going to get hosed too.

That sucks man. I just got my Teal full size from them today. Did a quick QC noticed small blemishes (nothing a good wrap can cover and no dings/dents!) It also had a slightly crooked 510, but I can live with that. Overall it's not as bad as what SsV is sending out to folks.

I have a V1 Hana mod, one of the first ones shipped after Trent showed me the prototypes at Vape Bash last year. I have used it almost daily for a year now with zero problems. Picked up a V3 Mini at Vape Bash this year and love the smaller package.

That sucks man. I just got my Teal full size from them today. Did a quick QC noticed small blemishes (nothing a good wrap can cover and no dings/dents!) It also had a slightly crooked 510, but I can live with that. Overall it's not as bad as what SsV is sending out to folks.

Let me add to my displeasure and frustration with the the unprofessional folks at Planet of the Vapes in Carmichael, CA.

On March 8, 2014 - I saw that they had a pre-order for both the Hana Modz V3 and the Hana Modz V3 Mini Pack. On the page, they said very clearly that we should specify a ranking of colors due to availability issues. I found this odd but went ahead and selected a full-size Hana Modz V3 and added it to my cart (It said "Hana Modz DNA30"). In the Order Note section of the order, I specified 3 different colors in ranked preference. I completed the order, checked out, and my VISA was charged $262.55 including tax and shipping.

Four weeks go by and I hear nothing, I drop them a message and hear nothing. Another week goes by, and I drop another message and hear back immediately that they will be receiving a shipment from Hana Mod on the 24th. I message them a few days after and they tell me that the shipment is on it's way to them from Hana Modz and that I will receive a shipping notification within a few days. And sure enough I did get just that on Thursday of last week. The USPS 2-day Priority shipment arrived yesterday.

I eagerly opened the box and saw what appeared to be a Hana Modz full-size box. I opened it up and inside was a red Hana Modz V3 MINI - not the full-size edition. I was annoyed and frustrated. I sent them an e-mail straight away and got no answer back.

So about 30 minutes ago I called the store and spoke to a fellow named Adam who insisted that I was in the wrong. He said that in addition to choosing a ranking of colors we were also told to select a preference of regular or mini device. I told him this was ludicrous and that there was no such option but he insisted that only I and one other person didn't specify. Of course, I know this is false because when I ordered I was meticulous about reading the instructions and specifying my colors carefully in the Order Notes. I wanted the full size edition specifically for the 18650 and could have purchased the mini elsewhere. In any case, if you visit their website you will see clear as day that there's a dropdown that allows you to add the regular or mini Hana Modz V3. He claimed it wasn't on the site when I ordered. I asked him if he was going to do anything for me and he said no, and that it wasn't there error. So I told him I guess I had no choice but to discuss it with my credit card company and politely I ended the call.

I'm just stunned at the audacity and shamelessness and lack of customer service on the part of some vendors. Planet of the Vapes is growing their business in the Sacramento area but also online. If this is how they plan to do business then I fear for any other potential customers and warn you to stay away from them. And as far as I'm concerned my stupidity here was to pre-pay for something that was vaguely specified. As far as I am concerned, this is my last pre-paid order for anything from the vaping community unless I am buying direct from the manufacturer.
