Love the concept, but not the final product.

However, what does one do now about marrying batteries? If you sometimes go single and sometimes dual, those batteries aren't being used the same.

Three batteries. One dedicated to single cell mode and a married pair for the dual cell modular attachment.

Or simply don't sweat it, since it's a parallel setup, and marrying batteries isn't really a big deal then. At all.

If it was a series setup, then yes, marrying batteries matters.
"Marrying batteries" is pretty silly. You should have 2 batteries in good condition, similar capacities and fully charged, that's all. "Marrying" them does not guarantee this as one of the cells can go bad. I would also not recommend fully discharging them as that's where the dangers can occur with mis-matched cells. Not really a problem with the DNA40 as it only discharges to 3.1v and 18650's will go down to 2.7v.

Looks at pictures and quickly leaves the thread.
Yeah, I've said it before, they really need a better photographer.

It is important to use the same battery type with equal capacity throughout and never mix different makes and sizes. A weaker cell would cause an imbalance.

I will not use parallel batteries that are not the same and have been charged an unequal number of times and at different rates (used in single battery configurations). Duty cycle means something....

Usual good practice would be to purchase new cells, check them individually to eliminate any that are obviously duds or out of spec, then keep them grouped together to avoid any variation in treatment or aging between them.

Not gonna lie... those pics look much more flattering than previous iterations. For a bit over $100, this mod is almost a no brainer. I'm not the biggest DNA40 fan, nor do I think this thing looks awesome, but for the price, this is a bargain.

Saw one in person today. It doesnt look 3D printed. Very smooth edges, no imperfections in the housing and overall feels very solid. Even with a battery installed its very lightweight. It does have the larger screen. Its smaller than I thought it would be too. I have a hana v4m and its about the same size. Just a tad shorter, but also a tad wider than the v4m.

Im guessing they will come out with more colorways soon-- im surprised they havent done that with the (previously new) V4. But to keep the costs down, it makes sense to have limited colorways.

Its cool and the pricepoint is great. For 110$ its now competing with the china mods like ipv and sigelei.
