I'm getting prepared to begin mixing my own juice... I've received a 250ml bottle of 60mg nic in 50/50 VG/PG... still deciding on flavors and other add-ins... Not being a wuss but, all the cautions that are posted with regard to handling the nic juice make it sound like you need a bio-suit to get near the stuff... before I open the bottle, looking for feedback on how others work with the liquid... gloves, goggles... ? ... What kind of physical precautions do other mixers employ in working with the nic base? ... Appreciate the feedback... Quintin

Use nylon or surgical gloves and eye protection and you may want to dilute some amount of it to a safer strength with PG etc.

And use graduated syringes or graduated cylinders to carefully measure. Don't do it by eye. And have labels and tape - label everything so you don't confuse anything you mix up. Also work away from pets and kids and keep your stuff in a very safe place.

And use a good calculator - this is one
eJuice Me Up - e-Juice e-Liquid Recipe Calculator

And once you have 5 posts or replies in New members then wait about an hour, you will be able to post in the DIY section. Read the guides there.

I would think you'd be safe with rubber gloves and eye protection, warnings on stuff like that can be a little overkill sometimes, not that you should disregard them. Definitely would want to wash it off immediately if you get it on your skin or clothes, and follow whatever it says if you were to accidentally swallow it or get it in your eyes(though that in particular shouldn't be an issue as long as you wear eye protection).

I use 100mg nic as well. Wear gloves and protective eyewear and have some paper towels handy. Don't mix where you will be distracted or children/pets or risk the chance that they would come in contact with the liquid. Use common sense. The warnings are posted on here for your protection just like at job sites that are dangerous. I've spilled 100mg on me before and didn't have any reactions to it. However, each individual is different. What may not affect me might may cause terrible reactions in you.

+1 on this. I had a bottle of 60mg come in with a leaky top and had it on my hands before I knew it. I got up from the couch in the living room where I opened the package and went to the kitchen 20 feet away to wash it off, so we're talking probably 20 seconds maximum before I got it removed. For the next hour I had a nasty nic headache equivalent to a bad hard liquor hangover. Hairball is definitely correct, we all absorb nicotine differently; different amounts, different exposure times. Nic overdose is calculated by approximate mg per kg for a reason. Please take precautions and be thoroughly familiar with the DIY process before you attempt it.
