hi guys

Ive been vaping for over a year, mixing pre made base with flavour concentrates for ages.

Ive now took the plunge and decided to mix juice with 7.2% nic after much consideration and research.

I will be taking the correct safety precautions, latex gloves, accurate syringes, goggles. Stored in freezer etc etc.

My only concern is how dangerous is 7.2% nic in this concentration??? I have purchased 100ml and should the worst happen and i do get some on my skin how serious a risk is it?

Any advice would be appreciated

Cheers

Take care, but it's definitely not a serious risk getting a little on your hands or fingers. You might get a bit of a tingly feeling, depending on what level nic you're used to vaping. It would be wise to wash it off fairly quickly, though. You're not going to get nicotine poisoning unless you drink the stuff. One other note: don't rub your eyes with nic on your fingers. It burns!

100 mg nic is the default consumer DIY. Keep it out of your eyes, don't injest it, avoid skin contact. When you're handling it safety glasses are prudent. I'm more concerned about breaking a bottle. My long term storage bottles are labeled, then into a zip lock bag, then wrapped in thin bubble wrap then into a second zip lock bag. The hope is if a bottle breaks the glass won't breach both zip lock bags and the liquid will be mostly salvagable. May be have a spill kit handy meaning mop, bucket, kitty liter, rubber gloves, etc. You want to be able to clean up quickly while avoiding skin and eye contact.

7.2% is 72mg nic. So, as you can see, it's just a bit lower than 100mg (10% nicotine), which is supposed to be the maximum concentration of nicotine you can buy as a private individual..
If you are not use to handling nicotine, I would advise you to cut the 100ml's you have with 200ml's more of straight VG. This will give you 300ml's of 24mg (2.4%) nicotine. Much safer to mess with.
Personally, I use 100mg (10%) nic for my mixes. While I no longer wear safety equipment, I do ensure I never touch the stuff directly. I also have transferred it into small bottles that are easier to work with and easier to store in my freezer.

I personally have spilled 100mg liquid all over my hands. Didn't even wash it off till i was done mixing and never noticed anything really.

Really now, c'mon.

Safety and handling considerations aside (don't ignore them people... they're important), depending on nationality one can purchase any concentration one desires, though we're prohibited here from discussing higher than 200mg/ml (20%).

And it's confusing to advise small bottles for freezer storage (I'm in that lack of space boat myself) after suggesting tripling the volume by cutting it, and all the way down to 24mg no less.
Besides... 100mg makes the math simple. :p

72 or 100... don't drink it, don't play with it, don't get it in your eyes.
So, try to work next to a sink, wear glasses/goggles and IMO gloves make a finishing rinse easier*.

*I like to rinse the nic bottle off after capping, in case some wants to seep down from the threads/seal. I'd rather not handle that barehanded that's all.

That's it.
Get in... get out... job done.

cheers guys, appreciate the advice.

im going to mix a basic blueberry custard with just cap blueberry and vanilla custard cap v1. not sure of good ratio.

thinking of having a total of 20% flavour diluted in 80vg 20pg... would 10% of each flavour be a good place to start? or should one outweigh the other generally?

thanks

I don't do blueberry, but if some people mix single flavor Vanilla Custard at 10-15% then you probably don't want 10% of both. Do you want more blueberry than custard, or don't really mind?

I'd start with less blueberry (less fruity in my case)... maybe 7% blueberry and 8% custard. That's just a guess, but you can mix in more if you need more of something....
it would be very hard to do something with a recipe that is already 20%....
