Greetings all!
I am pretty new to e-cigs, but have been very interested in them for the past several months. My local smoke shop has several varieties of e-cigs, however, they seem to be very expensive and the people at the smoke shop have no idea about anything except how to run their cash-register. I am on a budget and my pack-a-day habit has prevented me from having any extra money at the end of the month and I have spent money on cigarettes when I had no food! I know, its nuts... Finally, I decided to order a kit online (dinodirect) for about $12 and extra cartridges for $5. Well, I finally got to try an e-cig when it arrived after a long time being shipped- all I can say is WOW! I am so happy that I finally did this! I am sure that the unit I purchased is not very good by most standards, but it proved to me that an e-cig is a suitable replacement for tobacco in my situation.
Unfortunately, the e-cig stopped producing vapor after about a week of usage (heavy), but I was on my last replacement cartridge and just figured I needed new ones (found overpriced at the smoke shop for $15). Being an idiot, I tried each of the new cartridges and got the same result - nothing- and I figured I had just gotten a bad batch of refills. After some research, I am now convinced that they atomizer burned up and I probably just wasted all the refills not knowing this. Well, I am still waiting for another e-cig ordered from the same place but being without e-cig really bothered me because I was craving real smoke, again. Well, I found out about X-hale being sold at 7-11 and this has been much better experience than the cheapo I ordered from China (however, I actually preferred the sweet taste of the internet-ordered refills compared to the more tobacco flavored ones in the x-hale). I then purchased an e-hooka at the same 7-11, and now I am somewhat satisfied. I am thankful for this forum and I look forward to buying myself a better kit soon based on user reviews and recommendations, as well as ways to refill cartridges with fluid (this seems to be the most cost-effective solution). I really want to kick cigarettes completely and believe that the money I save (at nearly 10 bucks a pack in Washington State) justifies spending money on a better kit. Any suggestions for a complete setup under $100 including e-liquid would be appreciated!
Also, I heard somewhere that e-cigs are no longer allowed in public areas in Seattle, is this truth or myth? I look forward to meeting some of you - give me a holler if you hail from Seattle area!
